We had the good fortune of connecting with Ryan Buynak and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ryan, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
Being silly. Our friend, the great comedian Tom Rhodes said “Remember how valuable silliness is in your life,” and we could not have said it better ourselves. Being silly is the goal of Bothering the Band, the podcast, and us as humans!

What should our readers know about your business?
Bothering the Band is a fun, unique podcast in which we ask our favorite famous musicians super silly yet thought-provoking questions to see what really makes them tick. We don’t care about their struggles or inspiration, we’d rather find out what they ate for breakfast, if they’ve ever seen a ghost, how they put their shoes on (sock, sock, shoe, shoe…or sock, shoe, sock, shoe), plus many more hilarious and insightful inquisitions. We’ve gotten blue-collar punk bands from Germany, Grammy-nominated folk bands, rising reggae-rap superstars, and Tom Arnold (yes, that Tom Arnold).

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Anyone and everyone should go to our live podcast taping in Los Angeles. This very special live taping gathers your favorite LA musicians and comedians for a fun, unique event to swap stories in a talk show setting where anything can happen. The musicians include Nick Ghanbarian (of the band Bayside), Randy Randall (of the band No Age), Brian Wecht (of the musical comedy duo Ninja Sex Party), Danielle Durack, and Daniel Sheron (of the band Balto). Plus, comedians Brooks Wheelan and Brooke Van Poppelen. Also featuring, Rich Wilkes (screenwriter/director). It’s going to be a blast!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Giant shoutout to producer of the pod, Abigail Ann Lavey, for if it was not for her this podcast would still just be the crazy idea of a drunk idiot. You have those people in your life that just step up to the plate; she is one of those people. Actually she should be responding to this shit now.
