We had the good fortune of connecting with SABRINA DEMONICA and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi SABRINA, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Starting a new business can be intimidating, but I have always loved a challenge. Beginning my business venture with Dreaming Hippie came during one of the most difficult times in my life. I needed something to help with my anxiety, panic attacks and depression, so I decided to begin a business that could help alleviate the stress. Crafting and creating one -of-a-kind home décor items is a sort of therapy for me. It has helped me focus on the good in life. Throughout this journey I have met some of the most amazing artists and friends. I am looking forward to what the future has in store for Dreaming Hippie.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I began this journey before I ever realized it began. At a young age, I learned how to make dream catchers and back then I never envisioned it would become a life-long career. When I started making dreamcatchers, I gifted them to many friends & family members. Those same friends & family members would request custom pieces that sparked the idea for Dreaming Hippie. In addition to dreamcatchers, I have crafted the following: tree of life catchers, sun catchers, custom signs, keychains, zodiac dreamcatchers, chakra dreamcatchers, car charms, ornaments, jelly lanterns, driftwood art, fairy houses, stickers, car decals, DIY dreamcatcher kits and much more. I also am a henna artist so I include this craft as a craft vendor at local art shows. It was an easy transition from creating one item (dreamcatchers) to all of the above as I have never been satisfied with just creating one thing. Along the way I have learned that I have the most amazing tribe surrounding me and pushing me to be the best version of myself. What I would like the world to know about myself & my brand is that “its ok to not be ok”, life is hard and if you can find something that you’re passionate about, do it. It helps with healing.

Perfectly Imperfect is the true definition of Dreaming Hippie.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to give a huge shout out to the following people in my life. First off, my mother, who has continued to support every decision I have made (even when she may not agree with it) and who has been my mentor since birth. My step-dad Chris, who has provided life long advice. My dad & step-mom who always help me see the light at the end of the tunnel. My brother, sister-in-law , nephew and nieces for helping me heal and loving me unconditionally. My friends, Sarah & Katya, who have been my constant in life since high school. I would not be who I am today with all of their support, advice & love.
