We had the good fortune of connecting with Sabrina Gelsinger-Rodorigo and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sabrina, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
It was important to me to offer a holistic space for spiritually seeking women to heal from trauma. Holistic Healing and Wellness was created to offer you a unique experience that integrates mind, body, and spirit healing. By using EMDR, Parts work, meditation, Reiki, yoga, and crystal healing, this integrative approach allows you to embrace your wholeness and unlock the door to profound transformation

Often after someone experiences trauma or chronic stress, they can feel deeply disconnected from themselves, anxious, and on autopilot. As someone who has gone through these experiences, I know that feeling of disconnection well. This is common after trauma and many women go (and grow) through this.

Through my personal journey and profession, I’ve come to realize we can’t treat the mind separate from the body and spirit. It’s about acknowledging that true well-being isn’t achieved by addressing just one facet of our existence. The decision to combine therapeutic modalities with holistic practices came from recognizing the power of synergy. EMDR and Parts work address the psychological wounds, meditation and yoga engage the body and mind, Reiki channels energy, and crystal healing amplifies intention. This synergy offers a profound opportunity for women to heal on multiple levels simultaneously.

In essence, starting my business was a conscious choice to transform my own challenges into a source of support for others.

What should our readers know about your business?
I’m particularly proud of the unique space I’ve created at Holistic Healing and Wellness, where each woman’s journey is honored as sacred and individual. I’m deeply passionate about guiding them on a journey that encompasses the mind, body, and spirit. The blend of therapeutic techniques like EMDR and Parts work, coupled with holistic practices such as meditation, Reiki, yoga, and crystal healing, creates a comprehensive approach that allows clients to embrace their wholeness and achieve transformative results.

I’ve been through my own challenges and emotional struggles, which gives me a personal understanding of the disconnection that can occur after trauma. This shared experience allows me to provide genuine empathy and guidance to my clients.

Getting to where I am today wasn’t always easy, but challenges are opportunities for growth and any detour rerouted me in the right direction to show up not only deeper for myself but for my clients and community.

The lessons I’ve learned along the way are invaluable. One of the most significant is the importance of self-care and self-compassion. There’s a saying that goes, “You can’t pour from an empty cup.” As a trauma specialist, it’s crucial to prioritize my own well-being to better support others. I’ve also learned that no matter our roles or professions in this world, we have all gone through something and have a unique story to tell. I am constantly reminded of all the ways it means to be human.

What I want the world to know about me and my brand is that Holistic Healing and Wellness is more than a business; it’s a vessel of empowerment and transformation. I’m not just a guide; I’m a fellow traveler on the healing path. My story is one of resilience, growth, and a genuine passion for helping others find their way back to themselves. If you’re seeking an experience that acknowledges the interconnectedness of mind, body, and spirit, I’m here to provide the guidance and support you deserve.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We’d most likely start the day at Patch of Heaven Sanctuary in Homestead and enjoy walking through nature and Chef Gregg’s gourmet food and desserts. Other places we’d visit throughout the week are beach and South Pointe, the Perez Art Museum, The Peacemaker Studio, Aguacate Sanctuary of Love, and the two National Parks: Everglades and Biscayne. We’d enjoy Planta, Pubbelly, Salty Donut, Pinecrest Bakery, Omakai Sushi and get holistic facials with The Sol Glow. And of course, check out the art district in Wynwood.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I am grateful for the support and love of so many people in my life. I thank my family and friends my healing journey and business vision. I thank myself for having the courage to do something different in my business and show up as my true self.

Professionally, I thank my social work mentors – Stephanie Carrillo, Edith Caballero, Paty Hernandez, Jacqueline Ravelo, and Millie Maldonado. I thank my yoga teachers from Yogamour: Yoga Healing and Arts Center, Rebeccah Bartlett and Geni Donnelly for planting the seed for holistic healing. I thank every yoga studio and holistic center, practitioner, colleague, and client who has been a part of this evolving journey over the years.
