We had the good fortune of connecting with Samantha Fuente and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Samantha, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I’ve been a painter my entire life, attending design schools in both Miami and in New York. I knew I would end up in a creative field – I just didn’t know what exactly it was going to be. While in New York I worked a lot of different jobs until I found out I actually had a green thumb. When I realized that plants and design go hand-in-hand, I knew I had found my career.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
The Naked Palm is dedicated to creating luxurious one-of-a-kind arrangements for every setting. We only source the highest quality artificial foliage to help you find the perfect décor accents to elevate your home and business. Our preserved moss and artificial plants require no regular maintenance, watering, or sunlight. When I first started the Naked Palm I was strictly sourcing and delivering live plants. I started receiving more and more requests for artificial plants and decided to run with it. Rebranding and basically starting over with new clients and designs proved to be challenging at the time. For me, the rebranding process took about a year to really figure out. I wanted to make The Naked Palm successful in the artificial plant world and, with multiple competing companies in the same field, I really needed to stand out. That’s when I decided to create Drift, the first collection on our online store that combines natural elements with artificial plants.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
This week long trip will definitely end up being a food tour. Well first we would have to go eat at forte dei marmi in Miami Beach it’s a must! Then we have to go prime112 to go see the best bartenders max and gabe. We would also hit the beach and take our bikes down to south point and have lunch at smith and wollenskey for a sea food tower and claws.and when visiting Miami we will be eating at tinta y cafe that has the best ham croquettas ever!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Honestly I would love to shoutout my family and friends for always supporting my business and always promoting.
