We had the good fortune of connecting with Samantha Jones and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Samantha, any advice for those thinking about whether to keep going or to give up?
This is something I have thought about in my business, as I am sure every business owner has. Times can be challenging and you are constantly tested. I have found that through all the obstacles I have faced with Beau, I have always come out of it still wanting to continue on in the business. I think if the passion is there then you can keep driving yourself forward. You will understand and know when it is time to pivot into a new direction if what you are currently doing is not working for you. I have pivoted a few times with how I proceed with marketing.

On whether or not it is time to give up, that is on the individual. I know people who have called it quits because they no longer want to do it, or they are entering a new chapter in their life and do not have the time for it. But I also know people who just lost the motivation and when times got tough, they surrendered. If you really want it, you will keep going.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Beau was started in 2020 during the pandemic. It was a scary time, and life was uncertain but I knew that in that time I had so much extra free time to start this. I wanted to create a luxury label that was sustainable, because I found that there was either luxury or sustainable, you would never see both together. I wanted high quality sustainable fabrics, with bright colors, and sexy designs. Everything this brand has become is exactly how I envisioned it to be! I have had many challenges along the way, but have always been more afraid of failing, and that has helped me continue on in the hardest times.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Currently I am in Austin, TX, the company and I are moving to Tampa in a couple months but here in Austin, some of my favorite spots to eat are Numero 28, Fresas, Uchi, and Flower Child. The spots I love to visit are Barton Springs, and Zilker Park. I would also recommend walking around South Congress!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would love to shoutout all my customers, and people who are liking, commenting, sharing, and talking about the brand. I have been so happy to see so many of our customers rocking their Beau Swim on social media and it means everything to me, because I would not be where I am without them!
