We had the good fortune of connecting with Sandy Kacura and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Sandy, how do you think about risk?
My life has always been about taking risks from the time I was 16, I was starting my own businesses. I always knew I wanted to work for myself so I was always willing to do whatever it took to make that dream happen. Family and friends used to think I was crazy living with such unknowns in my life. I was raised where everything was very structured. My parents always knew where the next paycheck was coming from.
I don’t regret it for a second though, even though I have so many years of struggling. The knowledge I gained from being an entrepreneur is priceless.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My most successful business I started during the pandemic. I was going through a horrible divorce and I knew I needed a new project. I called up my sister and said what should we do? That is where Luxbands was born. We sell engraved and printed Apple and Fitbit Watch Bands. We love customer service and we love to design and what better business for both of us. We are 3 years into it and it has grown beyond our wildest dreams.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Coming from California, Miami blew me away. The beaches are amazing!! I would start the vacation by hanging out and walking around South Beach. The next day would totally be the Design center and shopping and lunch at Ironside Pizza! Honestly I would spend the rest of the time relaxing at the beach. I just love south Florida so much!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I could never be where I am at now without the love and support of my family. They helped push me every step of the way to become the entrepreneur I am today. I was together with my ex husband for 15 years and he was always my greatest supporter for everything in my life. I wouldn’t be where I am today if it wasn’t for him.
