We had the good fortune of connecting with Sarah Cieslinski and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Sarah, what are you inspired by?
Our environment and the endless beauty around us; Nature and its creations are beautiful; Wildlife and wild places.
What should our readers know about your business?
The Zero Waste Store brand is one of a kind because every product we carry, every package we ship, and every decision we make is based on the sustainability of our planet and its people. The idea behind our brand bloomed from the love and passion we have for our environment and wildlife. JJ & Sarah, co-founders of Zero Waste Store, brainstormed ideas on ways they can become a part of the solution and do something to help with our current climate crisis. JJ, web master and programmer, built the website and Sarah, environmental activist, used her voice and passion to educate and inspire communities. Running a business always comes with its struggles, late nights, and little to no free time, but what we have built over the last 2.5 years and all of the plastic we have diverted from landfill has been worth it!
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Living in South Florida definitely has many perks – sunshine, sandy beaches, national parks, and so much more! My ideal day would be to wake up early in the morning, head out to our local park and watch nature come alive as the sun comes up. Birds chirping, Gopher Tortoises peeking out of their burrows, pollinators buzzing, and just appreciating the natural beauty around us. For lunch, we’d grab a fresh pressed juice and smoothie bowl from a local spot and explore the rest of the day. As dusk approaches, we’d sit in my backyard with a glass of wine, see the sun set, listen to the waves, hangout with my pups, and watch our local Dolphins and native Birds head home for the night around us.
