We had the good fortune of connecting with Sarah DiAntonio and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sarah, as a parent, what have you done for you children that you feel has had the most significant impact?
I’m a new parent, just shy of three years with my boy, who has all my best qualities (and a few of my worst.) The most important thing I’ve done for him these last three years is create an environment where I can be home with him 90% of the time and run my business from my home. He was born in July 2020, when Covid was burning through every hospital in the world it seems. I knew I had to make his first, formative years as normal as possible, even when it felt like we would never be on the other side of Covid. Now that we have some distance from that terrible time, I sometimes feel like we didn’t socialize him enough, didn’t do this or that enough, but that’s the riddle of parenthood. You’ll always think you could’ve done something better, but if your child is laughing and growing into the person you always imagined, I think you’re on the right track.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Photography is constantly changing, from the way we take photos to how we share them. I started by developing photos in the darkroom under a safelight 15 years ago and now my cameras use AI to get the sharpest focus on faces. Programs like Photoshop and Lightroom constantly release new tools that need to be practiced and social media platforms change their algorithms so often, it’s hard to know how your content will be pushed to new audiences. It’s a creative struggle, definitely, but it’s something that keeps me looking forward, instead of behind.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Whenever you’re visiting Naples, you have to go to 3rd Ave S! It’s my favorite downtown spot for restaurants, local shops and great sunsets! I love photographing this area during engagement sessions, so many cute spots for photos with greenery or beach backgrounds. My favorite restaurant there is Jane’s on 3rd, which has the most decadent brunch menu. My friends and I love to have a few mimosas here, chat and catch up, and then grab gelato down the street at Barbatella!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Jesica N Mesa Photography, @jesicanmesaphotography IG

I had the pleasure of working with Jesica this weekend on my first destination wedding in Islamorada, Florida. She did so much more than take photos, she saved the day when my micro SD card corrupted and she was able to pick another up for me before she came to the wedding venue! Absolute lifesaver! She was always there to help with anything the bride needed, she was knowledgable and so very kind. It felt like I had known her forever, which isn’t something you find every day. Jesica took some absolutely gorgeous photos I know my couple will cherish, and she truly deserves a shoutout!
