Meet Scott Webb | President of Kolter Hospitality

We had the good fortune of connecting with Scott Webb and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Scott, what principle do you value most?
I value honesty and loyalty most of all in the hospitality world. This is key for both management and our team members. We must first earn their trust and loyalty. We do this by helping them grow, being able to come to us with problems regardless if they are professional or personal. When your employees know that you have their back, they will give you their loyalty and you will have a long-term, committed team that really works together as a family. Ultimately, when this happens it is our customers who benefit the most from experiencing a positive work environment.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
What sets us apart from your other hospitality organizations are the core values we live each day along with our tried-and-true commitment to our team members. We not only survived the pandemic but worked diligently to make sure we did not close any hotels and kept employed as much staff as possible. Now, we are growing our business during a difficult hiring period. I believe because we do the right things we have been able to outperform the market.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Because Kolter Hospitality has built and operates its hotels in some of the best cities in Florida, its hard to pick just three locations and things to do… but here you go.

If someone is going to visit our Hyatt Centric Las Olas Fort Lauderdale, they are staying in the tallest building in Fort Lauderdale and in the heart of downtown. They can enjoy world-class dining at Harborwood Urban Kitchen, craft drinks at the Harborwood Bar and the newest hot spot, Elev8 Rooftop Bar, which features an outdoor bar and pool overlooking the Cityscape on Las Olas Boulevard.

If they decided on staying at our 4-diamond luxury hotel, the Westin Sarasota, they will experience both luxury and service unmatched in the city of Sarasota. The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to give a shout-out to an incredible non-profit located in West Palm Beach called the Quantum House. Soon to celebrate its 20th anniversary, the Quantum House provides incredible accommodations for families with children being treated in a medical facility in the West Palm Beach area. I am not only honored to sit on the board for Quantum House but I feel blessed to see our team members here at Kolter Hospitality rally around this organization. This non-profit inspires us each and every day.
