We had the good fortune of connecting with Shandra Cornelia and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Shandra, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
After having worked in different jobs in the Hospitality and Event industry I often found myself wanting to serve clients in a different way, I wanted to be more involved and often found myself thinking, I wish I could do x,y or z and this wasn’t always possible. So I figured I could create my own company to serve clients the way I wanted to serve them. Also with having your own business you have the opportunity to stretch your creative juices and create a life you wish while doing something you love that helps others.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Normally what keeps me busy and fuels me is working with my clients and planning their wedding taking care of logistics, design but also things like their travel, accommodations, and activities for their guests since we specialize in Destination Weddings. In 2020 I mainly focused on education due to the lack of events, because I believe you should always continue to improve your skills in order to elevate the service experience you provide.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I love ‘Dolores but you can call me Lolita’ for fun drinks and bites. A wynwood stroll and for coffee Ann’s Flower coffe shop in Fort Lauderdale or the Alchamist

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My parents and my husband are always supportive of my business.
My accountability and biz buddy Britanny Madon from Florida Beach Wedding.  And also the industry groups I am part of like the Planner’s Vault and Refine for wedding planners.
