Meet Shathagoddess | Music Producer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Shathagoddess and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Shathagoddess, what do you want people to remember about you?
I think about this question all the time. Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, Chopin, Quincy Jones, Michael Jackson, let’s even throw in Drake… what do these people all have in common? Legacy! They will live forever in music, no matter how much time has passed people will remember their names and the music they left behind!

This is the legacy I will acquire! I want to be immortal through my music.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
What sets me apart from other producers is that I put my entire soul into my production. As a musician first and then a producer second, I like adding live instruments into my music which I feel is not the norm in this generation of music. Who is adding guitar solos to trap beats…… Me! I am, ShaThaGoddess lol.

I missed the 8 minute long songs with the piano or guitar solos at the end. Every note I play comes from the heart, if it does not feel right I won’t add it PERIOD. My music is 100% inspired by my emotions, and I want the listener to feel what I feel. Music has saved me (literally) and I know my purpose in life is to reciprocate that same feeling to my listeners.

I am most proud of how quickly I am gaining an online following. I started uploading my beats online a year and daily I have strangers reach out to me letting me know how much they enjoy my music. I look forward to when I receive a new message! This makes me happy because I usually do the same when I come across new music that I like. I would look up the artist or producer and give them their flowers! Being an independent musician is so hard and challenging. But having that random unexpected positive reassurance is just enough to keep going.

A lot of doors are starting to open for me since I started selling my beats online. First, I signed my first publishing deal with Beatstars and Sony Music! I also was accepted to Timbaland’s music platform for music publishers, film & tv, brands, content creators, and independent artists, called Beatclub. I also have artists and producers reaching out to me for collaborations and I am growing my youtube channel. Also growing a following on my social media profiles!

As I can remember, music has always been my passion. Growing up as a kid, I would pretend to play the piano, guitar, and drums. The funny thing is I can now play these instruments. I used to download songs from Limewire (r.i.p to my computer) and make a playlist on CDs. Then I would listen to these songs for hours studying and analyzing the music. I was so intrigued and curious about the process of making a song. So I downloaded a free trial of FL Studio 9 on my desktop and started exploring!

With trial and error, over time I got better at producing. Of course, with me being a musician, I caught on quite quickly. Started making beats for fun, then for my friends, and finally for local rappers in my area. As I gained confidence in my music, I began selling my beats online which gain a following quickly. So many doors are starting to open and I’m only getting started!

Of course, nothing in life is easy. Self-doubt and mental health has been my major setback. I missed out on so many opportunities because I didn’t believe in myself. Mental health has been the biggest struggle. A few years ago, I was diagnosed with chronic depression. This would explain why some days I feel great and others I feel like crap. I have now taken the necessary steps to get better.

I can finally focus on my music career and this is only the beginning! I eventually want to explore other creative outlets like fashion, art, etc. I plan to launch my merch brand called “Vibes Culitavor” very soon. This will include my music and my digital art! Also will have my digital art as NFTs, want to have pop-up stores all over Miami, and then eventually make my merch brand “Vibes Cultivator” a creative movement!

The future looks very exciting once I execute all my goals! Buckle up because we are in for a long ride!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I live in Miami so there are many great places to check out! There’s Miami Beach, ofc SoBe, Wynwood, Art Design District, Brickell, Las Olas and etc.

I enjoy supporting the small business owners in my city like Vegetarian Restaurant By Hakin, King Jerk Miami, Two Guys Restaurant, Purple Bodega, iKrave, Tomorrowland Miami, World Famous House of Mac, just to name a few.

In Miami, you will always find something to get into. I live in a city where most people come to vacay! lol
