Meet Shaundrice Foster | CEO and Founder of G-Weed Cosmetics

We had the good fortune of connecting with Shaundrice Foster and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Shaundrice, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I really loved the idea of becoming an entrepreneur someone who makes their own decisions,live life on their own terms that will eventually lead to a life of freedom. I got started because I really wanted to explore that feeling and also to earn an additional source of income.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
G-Weed Cosmetics is short for Guineahenweed Cosmetics it is a herbal personal care brand that make products from the Guineahenweed herb for the hair and skin. Guineahenweed is a miracle herb indigenous to the Caribbean know to tackle a myriad of skin ailments.

My business was started to tackle the rise of skin cancer and harmful cosmetics that dominate the market place by offering a healthier alternative with the herb’s potency.

The business sells Guineahenweed Soap, Multi-Oil Hair Serum and The Whipped Shea Butter for the hair and skin

My biggest achievement to date was winning the UWI entrepreneurship award in 2020 for most ready to investment business and overall winner.

I started the business because I wanted to honor my dad who passed away in 2017 and to still carry on my love and passion for entrepreneurship and cosmetics .My dad being a vocal advocate for the herb’s benefit , I decided to start G-Weed Cosmetics

I started very small with the help of a local scientist who was able to help me bring my idea to life. I started at a small local expo with 12 of each sets of products which since then i have worked to bring to market as a minimum viable product.

The journey is one of learning and growing it has had it’s ups and downs such as losing our social media page and the scarcity financial resources to scale but with perseverance we have overcome alot and is better poised for greater things

I would want the world to know that in life it’s never about perfection but about progress, always try at something before calling it a failure, and think no limits in who or what you or your dream can become
Because even as my business slogan says at ” G-Weed Cosmetics there is no limit what nature can do”

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Favorite Spots in the City right now is 1)A/C Marriott for a nice co-working vibe and after work dinner 2) The Pegasus Hotel for just about anything work, events ,dinner chilling I love the Pegasus Hotel.
3) Devon House for a nice Sunday ice cream
4)Emancipation Park for a walk in the park, relaxation ,picture taking,vlogging
