We had the good fortune of connecting with Silver Lerissette and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Silver, do you disagree with some advice that is more or less universally accepted?
One conventional advice that I find myself disagreeing with is the notion that “practice makes perfect.” In reality, practice does not guarantee perfection. Many business owners, particularly those who are just starting out, often believe that they must achieve perfection in order to be successful. However, I believe the opposite is true. Rather than striving for perfection, it is more important to be ambitious and willing to take risks. Embracing the process of learning and doing things despite fear and uncertainty can lead to improvement, but perfection should not be the ultimate goal. And that’s perfectly okay.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I work in the field of professional event design, based in the vibrant city of West Palm Beach, Florida. My specialty lies in creating one-of-a-kind designs that push the boundaries and defy convention. Building strong relationships with my clients is of utmost importance to me, and I am dedicated to delivering exceptional customer service. What sets me apart from other designers is not only my ability to create stunning designs, but also the genuine joy I find in my work. I am so passionate about what I do that I would gladly continue doing it, even if I had no other option but to do it for free.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
That is the worst question for me because I consider myself a rather uninteresting individual. Despite others perceiving me as adventurous and fun, I actually prefer the comfort of being at home with my family, embracing my inner hermit. However, if I were to have a friend visiting and had the responsibility of showing them around, I would start by taking them to Cityplace. Although it may not be extraordinary for us locals, I have noticed that people from other places are often impressed by the charm of downtown Cityplace. Next, we would enjoy a leisurely walk around town, indulging in some delicious pizza, and perhaps even catching some of the free entertainment on Thursday nights. I might also consider taking them to open mic nights and comedy shows, as well as engaging in entertaining activities like bowling or skating. And, of course, I would make it a point to stop by my sister’s house for a delightful game night with our loved ones. That’s about the extent of my plans, but I believe these simple yet enjoyable experiences would create lasting memories for my friend.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to give a special shout out to my husband and son for being an incredible support system at home. Their continuous encouragement and unwavering support mean the world to me, especially during times when I’m not feeling my best. I also want to extend my gratitude to the rest of my loving family for their words of encouragement and support. Additionally, I want to give a shout out to my Design sisters, who have played a significant role in my personal and professional growth. The support we have for one another is truly invaluable. Lastly, I want to express my deepest appreciation to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I am eternally grateful for everything He has done in my life and for the blessings He will continue to bestow upon me. Without Him, none of this would be possible.
