Meet Stacey-Ann Steele | Attorney-at-Law and Real Estate Associate

We had the good fortune of connecting with Stacey-Ann Steele and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Stacey-Ann, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Over the last year, I decided to venture into the world of Real Estate by becoming a Real Estate Associate. It was more work than I anticipated; but I felt that it would complement my 9 to 5 job as an Attorney-at-Law; since I was already exposed to land law. Also as a homeowner, I wanted to help people find their dream home or investment property. After much discussion and support, I was convinced that this was the path for me and enrolled with the Real Estate Training Institute and began my real estate journey; which is chronicled on my Instagram @realtorstaceyann

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I have dubbed myself the “Corporate Chick” where my professional life is not only busy; but also very fast paced. I am currently an Attorney-at-Law/In House Counsel who specializes in Corporate Governance, Corporate Secretarial services and Corporate Law and have been practicing for almost 8 years. It is an area that I am passionate about.  In my capacity as an Attorney-at-Law, I also act as Corporate/Board Secretary for several boards while providing legal guidance. About a year ago, I made the decision to become a Real Estate Associate because it went well with my current job as an Attorney-at-Law and it felt like something I would enjoy and would excel at. So far, I have no regrets! Taking on this new journey with my already busy schedule; keeps me very occupied.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If a friend who was visiting Kingston city and I had to show them around for a week; I would take them to visit the beach to experience the sun, sand and sea. I would definitely include a visit to Gloria’s (Port Royal) for some good seafood. Devon House ice cream would also be a must on any visit. I would also take them to a good old authentic Jamaican restaurant; where the cuisine is just chef’s kiss. I think a road trip out of the city would be warranted; because there is much to see outside of Kingston City. Also, a spot or two to get drinks and enjoy nightlife would have to be on the list.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?

My journey would not have been possible with the support of my friends and family; such as my parents and siblings. They are all appreciated and to them I say ‘Thank you!”

I would love to give a shout out to my sister, Donna-Neisha, who is my constant hype man and my ride or die; who believes that anything I want in this life, I just need to go for it. My father, who lives by the mantra that ‘in life, either you are working hard or hardly working so you must choose a side.’ My mother is a believer that what is meant for me will always be for me; so I should not worry. All of these persons have helped me on my journey and I am grateful. Of course, all my friends and other family members must be commended for their contribution; big or small. It is always appreciated.
