We had the good fortune of connecting with Stephanie Dorcius and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Stephanie, alright, let’s jump in with a deep one – what’s you’re definition for success?
I have come to believe success is subjective. However, the society we live in classify its standard otherwise . As we all face our own roadblocks in life, success ought to be measured at our own pace. We must be SMART with how we perceive success. In my past years, I was in competition with myself because I had my own timeline of when I wanted to achieve certain goals in life. But, as I am diving deeply into the reality day by day, I found myself accommodating what is then which were my expectations for what is now, the actuality. Did that mean that I was not successful? Not at all. It was just a change in journey. Once we allow the objective definition of success to dwell in our mind, it intensifies the worldly pressure of expectations. If you have once felt pressured to succeed at anything, just remember that it is better to do it well once than to lose yourself in the process. Quoted by my best friend, “Enjoy the journey. Not just the destination” is how I have come to define success personally.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am a Registered Nurse with my Masters in Science and Health Administration. I tend to have big vision and they are ongoing. Once I see the strength in an idea, it will take plenty to pull astray from it, which is why I am excited for the future of BON ti EPIS. Just like it took me sweat and tears to reach this current destination of mine, I am ready to face that road again to be where I pray to see my business. I am thankful for my support system and always sticking by my side during the rainy weather to be my umbrella. This has taught me to give others the same energy that I received to uplift and motivate them in their journey.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Well, my itinerary would consist of a trip to homestead for some fresh baked goods, especially the cinnamon rolls and a satisfying milkshake at the Knaus Berry Farm. Strawberry picking would be next on the list before we visit the sunflower field to capture some amazing pictures. The beach is a must along with a night at the Hollywood food truck night and enjoy the nightlife in Las Olas . For some therapy, a stroll to Pembroke Gardens Mall for a day of shopping and an evening at the Hard rock for a night of entertainment. I would schedule a trip to a few of my favorite restaurants; International Smoke, Area code 55 and Chef’s Adrianne’s. To end it, a road trip to the happiest place on earth, Disney and it is a must to spend the night to watch the ineradicable firework show.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to dedicate my shout out to everyone who ever supported BON ti EPIS. Being a business owner can have its discouraging days but those who have supported me from the very beginning, through a purchase or social media post, you are a blessing! But beyond those individuals are my husband (for going out of his way after work for ingredients when needed) and my dearest friends, Daenne, Wilky and Rosy. They all see the potential in my vision and have always been beyond supportive in what I wish to accomplish.
