We had the good fortune of connecting with Stephany Diaz and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Stephany, what’s one piece of conventional advice that you disagree with?
The concept of playing it safe. In aesthetics, and in business – there’s nothing small or safe about building a brand that actually lasts. I believe in starting strategically, not small. From the beginning of my journey, I knew I didn’t want to just be another injector. I wanted to create a luxury experience that reflected high-level expertise, trust, and elevated outcomes without the fear & intimidation. That meant making bold, thoughtful investments in training, design, and patient care – even when it felt risky.

Playing it safe doesn’t build loyalty, and it certainly doesn’t build a brand. You don’t attract dream clients or grow into a category-defining business by waiting for permission. You do it by moving with clarity, intention, and confidence. It’s all about knowing your value from day one. That’s what I try to instill in the mentees I coach: structure over scarcity. Precision over fear. And strategy over “safe.”

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
The Plump Room is a boutique aesthetics practice in Coral Gables built around one core principle: precision with purpose. We specialize in facial balancing, injectables, and high end skin treatments – but our work goes far beyond that. What sets us apart is the intentionality behind every treatment. I don’t believe in trends or overdone work. I believe in restoring what was always there & enhancing within the unique character of each face and delivering results that feel undeniably you.

What I’m most proud of is the trust we’ve cultivated. Patients walk through our doors knowing they’ll be seen, heard, and never oversold. And now, through mentorship, I’m able to help other injectors do the same. The insight to build businesses rooted in excellence, confidence, and a deep understanding of both craft and client experience.

Getting here wasn’t easy. Like most entrepreneurs, I’ve faced the self-doubt, the fear of stepping out on my own, and the pressure to “do it all.” But every challenge shaped the clarity I have today. I learned to invest in structure over hustle. To charge what I’m worth. To create a brand that feels like an experience, not a transaction. And to never settle for the bare minimum when I knew my clients deserved more.

If there’s one thing I want the world to know it’s that this didn’t happen overnight. It was years of building behind the scenes (even before opening The Plump Room doors), saying yes before I felt “ready,” and refusing to dilute my standards just to fit in. The Plump Room was built with purpose, and every patient, mentee, and milestone is a reflection of that. This isn’t just aesthetics to me, it’s legacy work.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Day 1 – Arrival + Welcome Vibes
Check in to The W or The Goodtime Hotel—chic, aesthetic, and full of personality. We’d ease into the trip with sunset cocktails at Casa Neos (rooftop, 3pm vibes, can’t beat it) and dinner at Cote Miami for korean steakhouse or Mila for dinner &. a show!

Day 2 – Coral Gables Luxe Day
Start with a quiet morning at Cafe Demetrio (a staple) for breakfast then of course, a visit to The Plump Room to treat her to the full luxury injector experience. Lunch at Café Pastis or Caffe Abbracci, followed by an afternoon stroll through the Biltmore Hotel grounds and Shops at Merrick Park for elevated shopping. Dinner at Zucca! Romantic, refined, and always a hit.

Day 3 – Wellness Reset & Design
Time to balance things out: morning FORM50 class (my go-to), then The Standard Spa for a recovery soak and lunch on the bay. Some of my fav breakfast spots in the Gables are Cafe Demetrio & some healthy spots for lunch are Carrot Express or Green G Juice Bar. Dinner & Upstairs Lounge at Swan is nice!

Day 4 – Island Energy
Boat day, of course. We’d charter something luxe and head to Nixon Sandbar or picnic off Fisher Island. Playlist on, cooler packed. Afterwards, dinner at Joia Beach; dining with your toes in the sand is always a core memory.

Day 5 – Culture & Culinary
Start with coffee at Panther Coffee Wynwood, then afternoon shopping at Bal Harbour, then a chic final dinner at Gold Standard Omakase for a fun semi-private dining experience.

Day 6 – Slow Morning + Send-Off
Final brunch at Little Hen or B Bistro, then a walk through Coconut Grove.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
There are so many people who deserve recognition along this journey, but if I had to dedicate my Shoutout, it would be to the mentors who poured into me long before I ever had my own brand, especially Dr. Thuy Doan. Her leadership, generosity, and the way she shows up for this industry completely shifted the way I viewed mentorship and being a clinician above all else. I felt as though I had finally found my fingerprint in this space.

I also have to shout out the patients and mentees who trusted me before things were polished or perfectly curated. They believed in my vision, even when it was still taking shape. That kind of loyalty is something I’ll never take lightly.

Lastly, my husband. He has supported every bold pivot, every late night, every calculated risk & he’s been the grounding force behind so much of what I’ve built. None of this happens in isolation. Every win is a reflection of the people who stood beside me through the messy middle.
