We had the good fortune of connecting with Steve Whittenberger and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Steve, tell us about your career. We’d love to hear what sets you apart from others, what you are most proud of or excited about. How did you get to where you are today professionally. Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges? What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way. What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?
I’m a tattooer of 20 years. I’ve been pretty fortunate in tattooing to have gotten to accomplish a lot and get to work in some of the best shops in the country. I’ve always worked hard to do good solid tattoos with a unique look. That way you’re not getting the same tattoo as all of the rest of your friends.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I think because it’s Florida, I would definitely have to take them to the beach. I also think Tate’s comics is a must visit. Probably Morakami as well. And of course Black Pelican Tattoo in Boca.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’ve had a few people who really helped me out in following the career path I have. Mostly Buz Bailey and Damon Burns.
