We had the good fortune of connecting with Susy Castillo and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Susy, why did you pursue a creative career?
Artistry is an expansive practice; for me is has been a pathway towards self discovery, mastery of craft and a commitment of being of service to the beautiful community I have created around me.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I came into the massage world looking for a high paying job, little did I know my world would completely shift and that I would dive into this journey of self discovery and wellness to better my life and those around me.

Massage therapy is something that has been part of wellness practices for centuries. The more I learned about the uses of massage and positive outcomes, it was an easy decision to stay and master some techniques so that i could offer an excellent approach to massage and body work. Pouring my self into my work and self improvement is the best way to stay current and ready for the high demand of body work in today’s heavy realities.

I take every opportunity i get to make the massage offering to the community, something attainable, available, and something that adds longevity to your life and stimulates your emotions.

Through massage i am able to hold a conversation with your body and it’s systems, to remind you of your incredible ability to self regulate, heal, and share this with others.
Many different specializations have shifted my focus from being so physical with my practice into shifting to a more energetic and flow-seeking exchange with clients. Each session holds unique value, for the depth of the reach is established by the two ppl exchanging energy to co-create.
A productive session is one where the receiver leaves with a heightened sense of self awareness and a stupendous sense of calm and rest.

Just know that no two sessions could ever be the same. I am committed to the greatness and uniqueness of my relationship with my individual clients; Quality and Integrity are my non negotiables at work.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.

South Pointe Park for a sunset hangout with south beach’s wellness junkies
Bike ride down the beach boardwalk (from south point to 85th and back).
The Standard hotel for some mediterranean dinner, jacuzzi, sauna, cold plunge and bayside lounging under our lovely tropical night sky.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
through the years I have been able to place myself in situations and environments that inspire growth and working on mySELF. Many people have energetically carried me through different stages of my life; grateful I am for what i have been through and the conversations that have been had, all has led me to my beautiful right now.
