We had the good fortune of connecting with Sydney Austin and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sydney, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The most important factor behind my success is my unwavering passion for food and the story it tells. From a young age, I’ve always been an adventurous eater, constantly exploring new flavors and dishes (and never being picky). This passion has shaped everything I do. Staying true to myself and my love for food has allowed me to remain consistent and deeply connected to my work. I believe that when there is authenticity and passion behind what you’re doing, success naturally follows. It’s this genuine enthusiasm and commitment that continues to drive me forward every day.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
The work I do, revolves around staying true to myself, and I cannot stress that enough. Authenticity is at the heart of everything I create. When you truly love what you do, you’ll never fail. I think that’s what sets me apart—my genuine passion for food and my dedication to sharing that with others.

The journey to where I am today wasn’t easy. There were plenty of moments when I wanted to give up, especially when the exposure wasn’t there, or when I felt stagnant and like I was getting nowhere. But through it all, I learned that consistency is key. The world often seeks immediate gratification, but in my field, slow and steady truly wins the race. People appreciate the commitment to staying authentic and showing up, even when progress feels slow.

Along the way, I’ve learned to embrace the challenges and continue pushing forward. I’ve come to understand that success doesn’t happen overnight, and the key is to stay persistent, even on tough days.

I want the world to know that everything I do is driven by a love for the craft—not for clout, fame, or money. I’m here because I genuinely enjoy it. I’m committed to promoting the places and experiences I love, and I do so with authenticity, passion, and heart. That’s what I want people to remember about me and my brand.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
This is a tough one because a week just isn’t long enough to fit everything in! But if I were showing my best friend around, here’s how I’d plan the perfect week.

Food-wise, we’d definitely have to hit up Driftwood for a farm-to-table experience. Their fresh, local dishes are always a hit. Then, we’d go to Amar for some amazing Lebanese food, rich in flavor and so satisfying. For a brunch, Park Tavern would be a must – they’ve got such a great selection and the vibe is perfect for a leisurely morning.

For events and places, we’d spend a relaxing day at the beach because, of course, it’s a must! I’d also take them to Butterfly World, which is super zen and peaceful, perfect for a calming afternoon. If one of my friends shares my love for animals, we’d definitely make a trip to the Miami Zoo—it’s always such a fun time.

If we’re feeling a little more adventurous and want to experience the nightlife, a night out in Miami is essential. I’d take them to El Tucan for a unique dinner show—such a cool vibe watching live performances while enjoying delicious food. Then, we’d hop around the nightlife spots in Miami for a fun, exciting night out.

There’s so much more to explore, but this itinerary would definitely give them a taste of everything that makes this area so special!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’d like to dedicate my shoutout to my family. They played a huge role in shaping my love for food and my adventurous approach to eating. From the very beginning, they never made me a picky eater. Instead, they encouraged me to try new things and discover what I truly liked and didn’t like on my own. That foundation of freedom to explore food has been a huge factor in my journey. Even now, they continue to support me in everything I do, whether it’s trying new dishes, filming, offering new ideas, or just being my biggest cheerleaders. Their constant encouragement and belief in me have been vital to my growth and success.
