We had the good fortune of connecting with Sydonnie Dennisur and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Sydonnie, other than deciding to work for yourself, what else do you think played a pivotal role in your story?
I had to start valuing myself and my business more. I had to stop being afraid to price my product what it’s worth for fear of not being able to sell. As much as I want my brand to be affordable for everyone, I also had to realize that I have quality merchandise and I need to act as such.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’m excited about expanding & creating more apparel separate from more life. The creative ideas have been flowing in since the New Year began. I now have shirts for natural hair called (4C); Instagram: @naturaltees & and shirts for a growing FB group called toxic thrills -www.toxicthrills.com . I am extremely excited to be finally releasing More Life swimsuits right on time for the season! I’ve searched high and low to find the perfect style and aesthetically pleasing swimwear that can accommodate all sizes. This is just the beginning of my expansion. What sets me apart is my constant desire to keep creating beautiful products and an enjoyable experience for my supporters. I got where I am today by people believing in me sometimes more than I believed in myself. When people believe in you and what you’re trying to accomplish you will be pushed and encouraged and that’s needed. It wasn’t easy for me to get to this level of business confidence. I dealt with depression from life changes and getting in my own way. I overcame this by changing my surroundings, my circle, and starting therapy. The ultimate lesson I have learned is value. What you think you’re worth is what will exude in everything you do! I want people to know that although I promote prosperity and endurance is that it’s okay to be down sometimes, just don’t stay there.
Any great local spots you’d like to shoutout?
I am fairly new to Atlanta so I haven’t been out much even prior to this recent pandemic. I have been so focused on rebuilding my life and brand, my social life dwindled a bit. (Lol)
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would have to shoutout my business partner, fashion designer, and best friend Saquathih Davis of Harvest girl collection. She has definitely taught me to utilize my own sources and ways to increase my income. We have helped each other with our separate business ventures and even created one together. I look up to her so much as an entrepreneur and a boss and she deserves all the recognition. Instagram: @harvestgirllove Email: harvestteam123@gmail.com
