We had the good fortune of connecting with Taknighis Beauvoir and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Taknighis, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Not wanting to work for someone until I am 6o, so I decided that my brand will be my retirement since I love pop culture and sneakers.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Complex News is my future dream job the platform inspired me to make Addictive News which would be the next Complex news. Complex News covers everything from hip-hop, skateboarding, films, and fashion, I have been reading complex since I was 15-years-old. Obsessed with the appreciation the publication put on youth culture I aspire to create something bigger than complex having my platform like the CNN of pop-culture. These publications aspire me to be a journalist and my business. I don’t feel I have accomplished anything great yet I am still learning how to manage my platform and how to grow more because it is not easy.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
The skatepark even though I am a bad skater, the skatepark is a safe environment where you can be free and no judgement.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My family has helped me a lot in pushing me to create my own brand, I also listen to podcast like brilliant idiots or hype beast business of hype that encourage me to start my own thing.
