We had the good fortune of connecting with Tamara Cherrelus and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tamara, Let’s talk about principles and values – what matters to you most?
I would have to say the principle that matters most to me is customer service and transparency. I provide my clients with top tier customer service and making myself available for their every need. My clients know they can call me or text me at any time. I have even had conversions with clients that went on until 12 in the morning.

I also feel that it is important to be transparent with my clients in all regards. For example how much things cost, what can realistically be achieved in a given time frame, as well as providing realistic deadlines as to when I can complete a task.

Ultimately I treat others the way I would like to be treated when receiving a service and I make sure to set realistic expectations.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Luxe Miami Designs was birthed from pure passion. I started my business after planning my wedding. I realized how natural planning and designing came to me. It was like a talent I never knew I had.

Although I have been having so much fun while on this journey, there has been a few challenges and learning lessons along the way. However, I would have to say that I welcome them because I am able to learn and make the necessary corrections to ensure that my clients are having an amazing experience while working with me.

Luxe Miami Designs is committed to creating luxurious and timeless events, tailored to each individual client. I know I have done my job when my client expresses to me that they feel like a super star on their day and their vision was captured even better than they had imagined.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We would first start with food and drinks! My favorite restaurant for good food and chill vibes is WATR at the 1 rooftop.

Next we would spend an entire day at the beach, Hallandale beach to be specific, I love that this beach is not overly crowded and quiet. Friend and I would rent an umbrella, read books, eat, and nap until the late afternoon.

The next night we can have have a girls night out filled with food and drinks at the Wharf Fort Lauderdale.

The last night we will binge watch African movies while eating a crab boil.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I don’t think I would be able to shoutout one person in particular but all of my family and friends! They have been incredibly supportive in so many ways, from reposting/sharing my work on Instagram to getting their hands dirty and assisting me with setup. I would also like to give a special thank you to my husband who always makes himself available to help with all the labor needed on event day, even if this means readjusting his work schedule for me. I am incredibly grateful for all of the continued support.
