We had the good fortune of connecting with Tanisha Del Carmen Dawkins and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tanisha Del Carmen, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Growing up, I have experienced many challenges in order to complete school that I decided that I wanted to impact lives and open doors for others. I vividly remember myself once, walking with my friend after school, telling her stories about me one day having a business and how I was going to be able to help my family and afford basic things that I didn’t have access to before. Yes, I am a dreamer. So, not only did I always know that I wanted to be an entrepreneur, but I knew I wanted to build and leave a legacy for future generations that will positively influence my community. Something that will tell people like me, who have dreams, aspirations and imagination, that it’s possible. Even to the ones ahead of me, I want to be able to allow them the opportunity to go after their dreams and remind them it’s never too late to pursue your ambitions. I started Vielux Medspa with the idea to help others to feel and look better. I was feeling tired every day. So I decided to try a drip of vitamins, which made me feel reenergized and hydrated, I was feeling great. Right there I understood that this was the perfect way to help the community to be proactive on the care of their own health by educating them to make lifestyle changes and protecting themselves with the used of vitamin blends either injected or infused which provides higher absorption. Through this, I also offer aid to support your skin, nails and weight loss if that is your goal. I hope to reach many, by providing honest, integral, reliable and effective service.

What should our readers know about your business?
I became a nurse in 2004 back in Panama City, Panama. I worked there for four years until I decided to take a leap of faith and move to the United States in 2008. Making the transition to being an RN here in the U.S. was not an easy road, but an amazing one. I had to quickly adapt to a different system and work environment, but thankfully I was able to blend right in. I have had the opportunity to work within different specialties and niches of Nursing which has made me fall in love with the art and profession of Nursing all the more. From working in different specialties in the inpatient/hospital setting, to being an Electronic Medical Record consultant to Travel Nursing and now, Administration – I’ve had a well-rounded career thus far. I obtained my Master’s degree in 2020, I am a Certified Family Nurse Practitioner in the state of Florida. I started Vielux Medspa, a concierge wellness and hydration business, serving Miami Dade and Broward , which I enjoy very much because it allows me to meet people who become my clients, interact with other business owners and provide everyone who crosses my path with information and resources that may certainly change their lives.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Oh wow, I would definitely take my friend to Hollywood beach, that’s where all the fun is. From the busy broad walk to the salty waters and the variety of restaurants and live music. I have enjoyed multiple times the Fried fish from Mamacitas restaurant, I’ll bring my mat to sit on the sand and share a delicious meal, then walk or ride a bicycle and of course closing the afternoon with a scoop of ice cream from a local restaurant. At night, I will take my friend to admire the guitar hotel, the lights and view are amazing. I am sure that by now my friend’s ears are tired of hearing me talk about Venice beach or Peanut Island, the most beautiful ocean water I have ever seen, quiet and relaxing location, family oriented, perfect sunset view and even more special because I can bring my two dogs, so we will spend a day there. Yes, I love the beach, especially, clear water beaches. We can’t miss Bayside, we will have a pina colada, enjoy the atmosphere and live music. We will have brunch at Another broken egg, the best smoked salmon benedict is there or shooters waterfront, spectacular view and delicious food. There are some great local restaurants in the Pembroke pines/Miramar area that we will enjoy as well. I’ll take my friend to the museums, art exhibitions, festivals and Wynwood. Of course, a trip to Orlando, to visit the theme parks, either Epcot or Disneyworld. I am sure that we will have a great time. Here lays the beauty of living in South Florida, there’s an overwhelming number of activities, places, scenarios and cultures for all ages and taste.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to start by thanking God; my faith in Him has given me the strength and motivation I need to continue walking on this path, especially in rough moments. Secondly, I would like to take this space to thank my mom, Carmen. Her unending love, patience and selfless support have been my pillar through the years. I am eternally thankful for her life and the sacrifices she’s made for my brothers and I over the years. A big part of why I am who I am is because of what she has poured into my life. I am surrounded by amazing individuals, both friends and family, who added to my life and loved me through ups and downs. They have given me the respect and space to be myself while still fostering my metamorphosis in becoming a better, more self-assured version of myself. My friends Melissa & Yami, my Aunt Carola and forever mentor Karleen B. Last but not least, my brothers George, Jhamal and Kevin, for always trusting, respecting and protecting me. Simply saying ‘thank you’ will never be enough.
