We had the good fortune of connecting with Tatineasha White and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tatineasha, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
At a very young age, I always loved fashion. I was never the teen that wanted the same outfits or shoes that every other girl wore it was just never me I always had a different look. From small dances, prom, or parties Im always that girl. I always got compliments on all my pieces, and this is where I decided to start TheeWhiteLabel LLC my online boutique in 2019. I wanted to start my store so that I could pick out pieces for the ladies like me that don’t want to look like the next person. It doesn’t have to be much but “US” women love to look nice it’s more of a passion for me and I love to shop and pick out clothes so I mean why not the sky is the limit.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Theewhitelabel is an online women’s boutique. We sell clothes, shoes, purses, 100 percent mink lash strips (natural, 25mm, color), and online starter business courses. I have been in business since 2019 I started off selling mink lashes at the time I was working at UIC hospital in Chicago, Illinois I made the most money while on my lunch break. I met a lot of supportive women in that building alone. You know women talked so I use that as a marketing tool they always complimented me on my lashes and that was a part of my marketing plan. At the end of 2019 I was doing well I had the clients but I need more money by this time I’m getting frustrated because I wanted more products, and I had more ideas I needed to change some things. So I started working overtime just so that I can make extra money because I figured the more money I put in the more money I get out. I even thought about getting a second job but my family was like no Tati that to much work on you right now. Then covid hit April 2020 which slowed a lot of things down for me at the hospital we were on very high restrictions versus the year before, so this gave me time to rebrand and I started to research business credit. I was preparing myself for popup shops I knew I had to do something different for this upcoming year and trust me it was stressful I mean just doing everything by yourself can be a lot plus still working a full-time job, but I got it done. I think my customer service skills set me apart from others. Customer service is more important than anything I know from experience I always go back to the places that treat me with respect and put my needs priority when it comes to any type of service so I always make that number one when it comes to my business.I’m so excited about how far I came because being and small business owner is not for the weak. I’m grateful and I going to keep pushing there is no other way I will get my warehouse I don’t know when but I’m patient. I am where I am today because I researched, learned, and asked questions. I’m not afraid to ask questions because I don’t know and I get along well with people. I have met so many people that took me in with open arms and I soaked up the knowledge and applied it. I’m grateful for these individuals because without them this process would’ve been much longer. This was not easy honestly nothing ever comes easy to me easy I have to work for it this is why I am who I am today. I feel I overcame a lot of these challenges by having a lot of faith and knowledge was i always right no, but I got it right the next time around for sure. When doing anything a lesson is always learned you just have to be willing to learn. I learned that when starting a business it’s best to start with a business plan, map out your finances and set a realistic goal big or small. Also, for business funding, you should start to focus on grants in the beginning or loans it will help. I always use to think that loans were a no go for me, but if you are disciplined and know your goals go for it every business owner could use a little assistance especially small businesses. i want to want the world to know that working is one thing but doing what you love will always keep you happy in life.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My mom, grandmother, and sisters. They are always ten toes down for me when I need them no matter the circumstances I could be stressed crying about grants or just talking about ideas, popup shops, deliveries, sorting, and inventory. They even grab a few things to add to their collection here and there but they’re my support system and my team this is and always will be a family business.
