We had the good fortune of connecting with Taylor Crawford and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Taylor, what habits do you feel play an important role in your life?

As a health and fitness professional, I find it extremely important to lead by example. Many people associate health and fitness with physical appearance, but it is so much more than that. Habits that help me succeed in my field are:

1.    My desire to constantly learn and advance my education in order to continuously strive to become a better version of myself. You can never know enough.

2.   My dedication to my exercise and diet.

3.   Having knowledge on topics that other trainers don’t know much about. Holistic Health and Nutrition are very important to me. I help clients understand WHY something is harmful to his/her body and what they can do to function to their full potential.

4.   Always practicing due diligence by not taking information at face value and always doing my own research to make sure what I’m researching aligns with my values and ideologies.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.

I feel what sets me apart is my care for my clients’ overall health and wellness. To me, health and fitness consist of more than having someone lose weight or look a certain way. My goal is to help clients make lifestyle changes that will set them up for longevity. It’s easy to help someone workout, but what about all other aspects of their life: diet, relationships, medical history, goals, passions, etc. I understand how someone might seek happiness in their appearance, but that health runs so much deeper. I truly care about my clients.

I feel the best way to overcome challenges is by facing them head-on. If you have a slow month or a pandemic that closes down gyms: meet new people and workout outside. The only thing that can stop you is yourself. I have learned to not allow current or potential clients to make excuses. We aren’t made to mesh with everyone we come across, and if someone doesn’t see the value or knowledge that I bring to the table, it is okay with me if they find another trainer.

One thing I want the world to know is that we are constantly evolving (if we allow ourselves). We can learn and adapt to new habits daily that will add up to big changes over time. It is never too late and it is never a bad time to start your journey to a happier, healthier self.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.

Since this is South Florida we would obviously go to the beach! Maybe do some jet skiing and shopping. Is it football season? Are they coming during the food and wine festival? I have so many questions haha.

Dining for me would consist of: Salt7, Cafe Martorano, La Dolce Vita, Greek Islands Taverna, Louie Bossi’s.
Cutest coffee shop with the best cake: Circle House Coffee
Swimsuit shopping: Montce Swim

I really try to stay away from tourist attractions or places. I like my friends to feel like a local when they are visiting.

Maybe a drag show at Lips, that’s always a good time!
Boat rental for a day!

I don’t drink but they are welcome to if they wish

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to dedicate my shoutout to every woman who has looked to me for motivation, advice, or guidance. Every woman who recognized how hard I work and how much I care about helping others become and feel their best. When I receive your messages full of success stories, how amazing you feel, how great you think you look, how you stopped taking prescription meds, and your thank yous, I work even harder. You are why I do it.
