We had the good fortune of connecting with Tiana Singleton-Taylor and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Tiana, we’d love for you to start things off by telling us something about your industry that we and others not in the industry might be unaware of?
One thing about the fashion industry that outsiders/ consumers are unaware of is the lack of sizes when trying to purchase from vendors. I want everyone to feel included; meaning everyone of all sizes can rock my clothes. However, it’s very. hard when vendors only have size S,M,L. There are rarely vendors offering size XS & size XL, let alone plus sizes.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
The name of my business is Ana’s Closet. “Ana”, pronounced, “Ah-nuh” not “Ann-ah” and comes from my first name, Tiana. Ana’s Closet is an online boutique selling women’s clothes and accessories that are currently trending. I am a young entrepreneur, 20, so I didn’t know where to start when starting my business. But ever since a kid, I knew this was what I wanted to do, so I went for it. I got to where I am business wise, by not giving up when things got hard and always being willing to learn. “Never know too much to learn something new”, is a quote I love by Og Mandino. I want the world to know that Ana’s Closet is still in its early stages but this is only the beginning. There is so much planned for the future and upcoming holidays, be prepared!
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Some nice restaurants are Shooter’s Waterfront in Fort Lauderdale,FL, Prime 112 in Miami, FL, Como Como in Miami, FL. Some cool places to visit would be Miami Zoological Wildlife Foundation, CMX Brickell (luxury dine in theatre), any South FL beach and a Miami sunset boat tour. Nice places to hang out at would be Aventura Mall for shopping, night clubs, pool parties, etc.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to dedicate my shoutout to my loving parents. My parents have always worked hard, both self-made entrepreneurs who were always coming up with ways to become more successful. Since a little girl, my parents have always told me “you can do anything you want to do”, ‘never say you can’t do something”, just always making sure I know I’m capable of doing anything I desire. My mom always tells me “can’t” is not in your vocabulary, to this day. Therefore, they deserve recognition in my story.
