We had the good fortune of connecting with Tyeshia Hayes and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Tyeshia, how do you define success?
There are many ways to define success. I believe for everyone it’s the goal of making a lot of money which is obvious, but to be able to make a lot of money, I would like to make sure I am in a position to not only take care of myself and my family, but also to helping others in the world.
Success is being able to achieve my goals and aspirations, being in a high position to become a role model for others, to becoming someone who is highly admired. The goal of success for me has always been being able to look back on how far I have came, and use each stepping stone as a way to coach/guide others on the way to the way to success.
My saying is, “The two ingredients to success are goals and effort, in order to leave a legacy.”
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Being new to becoming a lifestyle/food content creator I am still learning every step of the way. There are many things that I am proud of, but most importantly I am proud of myself, this is something that I have always wanted for myself after working, interning, and managing various social media accounts, I have always wanted to start my own brand and become my own boss/face of my own social media page. Although, my road hasn’t been the most challenging because of the prior knowledge I have from college with obtaining my minor in Social Media & E-Marketing Analytics at Florida International University, which has given me the tools to have preformed many simulations, and trainings, alongside with the hands on experience in the field. I have to also give many thanks to the various people that have a coached me and gave me helpful advice and tips along the way. Overall, I am excited to see where this takes me because I have seen the power that social media has and where it takes people.
With my brand, I am a country girl at heart I love down home restaurants that provide amazing service, food, and atmosphere. Although, I review everything such as fun things to do in the city, finding great places to eat, and soon to come, travel content. Those down home places that don’t get much attention on social media have a special place in my heart. I want to set myself apart from the rest by highlighting businesses that people may tend to forget about or have not known about such as old school Mom & Pop’s restaurant’s, etc. I pride myself on finding places that people have never heard of or forgot about. I believe those historic places deserve as much of a spotlight as the commercial/mainstream places because they are the heart of the city. No matter what culture if I am reviewing a Soul Food Restaurant, Haitian Restaurant, and/or trying Latin cuisine those are the heart of South Florida to show us how many various cultures that reside in beautiful sunny South Florida. I am still very new to building my brand, but in due time I will have a segment for everything whether if it’s finding your local diners or dives, or even in the city highlighting a small business, and also highlighting different businesses in other cities, states, and countries.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
