We had the good fortune of connecting with Valentina Jimenez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Valentina, putting aside the decision to work for yourself, what other decisions were critical to your success?
Reflecting on the moments that shaped my journey as a producer, one decision stands out vividly: embracing the versatility of my passion for the audiovisual industry.

Arriving in Miami filled with aspirations of stepping into the screens, I encountered the obstacles of starting anew in a big city. Despite facing setbacks and moments of doubt, I refused to surrender.

Instead, I chose to redefine my path, recognizing that true fulfillment in this field isn’t solely determined by being in front of the camera. This realization liberated me to explore diverse opportunities within the industry.

Navigating Miami’s audiovisual industry, where connections dictate entry, presented its challenges. Yet, armed with determination and an open mind, I started asking and laying the groundwork for my career as a producer. I’m grateful that someone recommended me for my first job, and after that one, the opportunities never stopped.

This journey hasn’t been easy, but it’s taught me the power of resilience and the potential to embrace myself as a multipassioned person. By remaining adaptable and seizing opportunities, I can keep growing in this industry and being part of outstanding creative productions.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’ve been passionate about the entertainment industry since I was young. At three years old, I was already attending dance and modeling academies and appearing in magazines and competitions. From there, I seized every opportunity until I entered the world of television. I spent five years at Promar TV as the host of “Imaginación TV,” the most significant children’s show in the Central West of Venezuela. Additionally, I hosted radio programs, continued dancing and acting, and eventually graduated with a degree in social communication. I’ve been multi-passionate for as long as I can remember.

Upon arriving in Miami, I started a podcast called “From My Experience,” which now boasts over 70 episodes. I also delved into the realm of audiovisual production.

Presently, I hold the position of a Creative Producer at Spotdly, a Miami-based creative studio. In this role, I have the privilege of collaborating with major brands in Latin America and the USA, contributing to their creative endeavors. In addition to my full-time role, I also freelance, which has given me the opportunity to work on projects for renowned platforms such as Netflix, Apple TV, Hulu, Vix, Telemundo, and more. Beyond my professional life, my husband and I also manage a food business called Sandoches.

I thrive on juggling multiple projects simultaneously despite the challenges it presents. It’s a constant learning experience, and one of the most valuable lessons I’ve learned is that while you can pursue all your passions, you may not be able to pursue them all at once. However, with organization and clear priorities, anything is achievable at 100%.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’d love to say that I visit many places and have the time to do so, but I spend a significant amount of time working. Any new places I do get to know are usually through work-related ventures.

My favorite beach spot is Virginia Key. I love spending time at the beach there.

When it comes to street food, nothing beats what we make ourselves. I can’t resist @sandoches, a Japanese sandwich popup that’s simply unbeatable.

As for my favorite restaurant, it has to be Osaka Nikkei. It’s always my top choice for any celebration.

I can highly recommend exploring the national parks throughout the state of Florida. Camping in this state is fantastic, and I thoroughly enjoy it. My family and friends try to do it as often as possible.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
The first person that comes to mind is my mother, an incredible woman who has always believed in me and encouraged me to reach my goals. Her unwavering support and advice have been crucial to my development. I am grateful for her ability to protect me and set necessary boundaries while allowing me to explore and pursue my dreams. Her influence has been fundamental in shaping the path to where I am today.
