We had the good fortune of connecting with Valentina Maddaluno and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Valentina, we’d love to hear what makes you happy.
Cooking!!! Its my meditation, my happy place, its where I reconcile with my day. There’s something grounding and joyful about preparing a meal and sharing it with people I love and appreciate the experience as much as I do!

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Over the past 10 years working as a realtor in Miami, I’ve had the privilege of maintaining long-standing relationships with clients I met in my very first year, something I truly cherish as some of my clients have become great friends of mine.
Building my business in real estate wasn’t easy. I had to begin from scratch in a competitive market like Miami and I didn’t have a network of wealthy contacts who could give me a head start. When I first got my realtor license, I was working weeks just to close a small rental. But all those small deals allowed me to gain precious experience and detailed knowledge on every single step of the transaction which I treasure and utilize daily.
I think what sets me apart is the intention behind everything I do. I care about giving my clients an excellent experience, first and foremost from a ‘human’ standpoint. Everyone comes with their personal ‘story’ and I think its crucial to understand the emotional triggers before we even talk about their real estate goals. Then when it comes to the execution part, I can honestly say that being organized its part of my DNA so my clients can rest assured that anything within my power, its taken care of. I also think my clients keep hiring me because they get a kick out of me – they know I can always find humor in everyday life, so necessary to be able to laugh!
If there’s one thing I want people to know, it’s that my work is an extension of who I strive to be at all times: grounded, thoughtful, intuitive, and always evolving. I don’t just help people achieve their real estate goals, I always try to make a positive impact. Whether its sharing a great recipe or relate to something they may be going through in life.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
When my best friends come to visit, we go all in on the Miami experience…starting with a little bit of sunshine, a lot of good food, and that unmistakable South Florida energy! Well, we’d make the most of it, even though I’d still be working (because as you know real estate doesn’t sleep!)
One of our musts would be spending time at Soho Beach House. It’s my favorite little escape, great vibes, good food and ambience at Cecconi’s, and just the right mix of chill and fun. We’d carve out time for a boat day (because what’s Miami without one?), grab brunch at Zuma during the week-end – so fun with a live DJ, and treat ourselves to dinner at Mandolin or Bellini by Mr. C Hotel unless they crave one of my pasta dishes : )
There are so many neighborhoods that I absolutely love in Miami…one of them is Coconut Grove – it’s my go-to for catching up…so many great little boutiques and there are plenty of art and culinary festivals throughout the year. During the day, we could explore spots like Vizcaya Gardens, the farmers market across the street from there its also so cute! For a local happy hour, I like a lot River Oyster, Delilah or Casa Tua in Brickell or for sunset views I would go to Lido Bayside at The Standard Hotel or Monty’s on the beach for a more casual vibe.
Of course there is going to be a pizza night, because pizza is my absolute favorite food! I love Giovanni La Leggenda, O’Munaciello or La Natural, hmm I’m suddenly hungry lol!
For a fun night out, I would go to Liv if there is any Dj we love or start at Miami Sound Bar for a drink and definitely will go to the Tea room by the East Hotel later on or Marion. So many options!!!
Even with work in the mix, Miami offers this amazing energy that makes every moment feel like vacation. It’s the mix of cultures, flavors, music and scenery that makes it all so magnetic. I’d just want my friends to leave feeling inspired, recharged and like they got a real taste of what makes this city and my everyday life here so special!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
So many deserve recognition! My deepest gratitude goes to my family, they are my constant inspiration. Every significant decision I’ve made growing up has been with the intention of giving back for all they’ve done and still do for me.
Also, since I left my birth country, Italy, in my early 20s – my college friends became chosen family always cheering me on. And over the past six years, I got lucky enough to meet my now husband Alex who has been a true lighthouse. His positivity and playful approach to life have taught me that discipline and joy can coexist.
I must also acknowledge that the book ‘The Alchemist’ (by Paulo Coelho) has had a profound impact on me. It reminded me that we all have a personal legend to follow, and that the journey itself is just as important as the destination…it taught me not to ‘fight’ adversity but rather ’embrace’ it.
