We had the good fortune of connecting with Vanessa Rivera and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Vanessa, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Starting Two Spoons Peruvian Kitchen was an incredibly exciting journey. Our goal from the outset was to introduce a unique concept that broke away from the traditional Peruvian restaurant. Inspired by the rich tradition of Peruvian sandwiches, we decided to bring this unique culinary experience to Miami, tailoring it to fit the vibrant culture of Kendall.

At Two Spoons, we pride ourselves on providing an atmosphere that combines the comfort of home with sophisticated elegance. We want our customers to not only enjoy exquisite food but also feel as comfortable as they would at home. Every detail, from the décor to the service, is designed to create a memorable experience that reflects both Peruvian warmth and Miami’s energy.

Our meticulously crafted menu features a variety of authentic Peruvian sandwiches, made with fresh ingredients and traditional techniques to ensure each bite is a celebration of Peruvian cuisine. Additionally, the restaurant’s ambiance is designed to mirror Miami’s community, blending the best of both cultures.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Achieving the establishment of a restaurant is one of my greatest accomplishments, not only for having it but because of the profound significance behind Two Spoons. This restaurant represents my family in every sense, and it is this essence that we strive to convey to our customers. The journey was not easy; it took over 20 years of hard work and dedication, filled with highs and lows, trials, and errors, all of which were crucial in making Two Spoons a reality today.

Throughout these years, one invaluable lesson I’ve learned is that with dedication and determination, anything is possible, especially when you find the right people along the way. I aspire for the world to enjoy Two Spoons wherever it may reach in the future, but above all, to feel the vibe and love we pour into every detail and dish we create, as this is the essence we never want to lose.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would take them to Two Spoons first so they can taste and experience our restaurant firsthand. Miami boasts many extraordinary spots. A visit to Miami Beach is a must for its stunning coastline. We can’t miss out on a local sports bar to feel the city’s passion for sports. A stroll through the city’s various malls is essential, and Wynwood is a key destination to experience the vibrant art scene. Lastly, Miami’s exciting and lively nightlife, which the city is famous for, is something that cannot be missed.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to dedicate this recognition to my two sons, Stefano and Lorenzo, who have always been my driving force and energy in achieving my goals. Additionally, my life boost is my husband, Kevin Boggiano. Without him, the journey would have been much longer and more complicated; he is the person who makes everything seem easier and simpler.
