We had the good fortune of connecting with Vany Vicious and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Vany, what is the most important factor behind your success?
I truly believe that the most important factor when being a social media influencer, or at least the reason I have been successful in this realm is because I’ve always been authentic to who I am. What you get online , is what you get in real life as far as my personality and I think my fans can see that .
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am a full time model, or “tattoo model “ , and I’ve been in the industry for 19 years . It wasn’t easy getting to where I am today , it definitely took a lot of work, and I’m always learning . I started on social media back in the MySpace days where to be a successful model, you had to be in print , in magazines, trying to land covers . As years have gone on , so much has changed with social media , every day is a school day and things are just so different now. I think as long as I keep rolling with the evolving times, I’ll be just fine and able to continue doing what I love . The biggest lesson I’ve learned is to always be myself, and just continue to do what makes me happy , no matter what. My brand continues to grow , not only with social media but I also just started my own podcast , voice of vicious , which I’m really excited about .
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
To be honest , even though I was born and raised in Hialeah (Miami,fl ) , I do not enjoy going “out out “ . If my best friend was visiting, we’d probably be eating amazing Latin food, going to beaches , and working out. But of course If they wanted a tourist experience, we’d be in south beach , wynwood, and bar hopping as the locals do.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
First off, I’d like to thank my followers/fans. Without their support, I obviously wouldn’t be where I am. Without their engagement , I wouldn’t have the opportunities I’ve been given . But another huge shoutout goes to my close friends and family, who have always been accepting of me, my career, and for knowing who I am as a human being. Without judgement .
