We had the good fortune of connecting with Vassal States and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Vassal, what habits do you feel play an important role in your life?
How we begin our day sets the tone for the abundance we invite into our lives. The foundation is laid with meditation, a good run, and focused workouts.
From there, we dedicate time to daily practice, honing our craft individually with our instruments. We then carve out focused sessions for music production and the development of our original sound.
Each week, we prioritize intentional networking, knowing that real growth is built on genuine relationships.
Each week, we strategize and refine our branding approach, with a focus on behind-the-scenes content, new music promotion, and meaningful engagement with our supporters.
Last but not least, we prioritize staying centered through self-care and mental resilience. Rest and recovery, especially after weekend performances both locally and internationally, are essential to maintaining our consistency and longevity.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
As an electronic DJ duo, we stand out the moment we step on stage armed with a wireless electric violin and a wireless darbuka drum. Fusing live instrumentation with our signature blend of cinematic EDM and Afro-house, we create a distinct sound that leaves a lasting impression on every audience we play for.
We find deep joy in crafting new music and constantly pushing the boundaries of electronic production. Our goal is to break trends, challenge norms, and explore new dimensions of sonic expression.
While we will always remain students of our craft, our journey so far has been shaped by discipline, an abundant mindset, and the unwavering commitment to invest in ourselves and our vision.
Behind the scenes, there have been long days, sleepless nights, and seasons where resources were scarce but consistency, faith, and a fearless attitude have carried us through to this moment.
Throughout our creative journey, we’ve learned to give ourselves grace. More importantly, we’ve come to understand that true greatness is found not just in what we create, but in how we use our gifts to uplift and inspire others.
Vassal States is an internationally recognized DJ duo and elite multi-genre production team known for curating high-energy, immersive experiences and redefining the soundscape of modern EDM. Their recent releases, “Guardian” and “Eye in the Sky,” have captured the attention of today’s eclectic music lovers—and they are thrilled to announce the release of their next single, “Circus,” arriving June 2025.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
When friends come to town, we love kicking things off with a solid workout at Equinox Brickell to get the energy flowing. From there, it’s off to explore the Miami Design District and Wynwood Art District, perfect spots for boutique shopping, vibrant art, and a stylish brunch.
Next, we soak up the Miami sun with a private yacht cruise, eventually docking at one of our favorite waterfront dining spots: Seaspice, where the views and cuisine never disappoint.
After some well-earned rest, we gear up for a night of music and dancing—starting with the legendary LIV Nightclub at the Fontainebleau, where the real Miami nightlife experience begins.
