Meet vika Costa | Artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with vika Costa and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi vika, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
i think risk is one of the most important parts of our life. in my experience, every time i took a risk it was followed by new beginnings, growth and new opportunities.
Please tell us more about your work. We’d love to hear what sets you apart from others, what you are most proud of or excited about. How did you get to where you are today professionally. Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges? What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way. What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?
Hello everyone! Im very exited to share my story with you guys!
I started to art when i was a kid, my mom sent me to art school and thats how i began my creative path.
I make my art with humor and sarcasm, I think some ppl exaggerate importance of some things, for example fashion obsession, or movie stars etc, and i like to show it in my artwork.
Every artist have a lot of challenges,
I used to live in NYC where i started my profecional art career, where I have done over a 20 art shows in the past 10 years.
Im very proud that my art has been sold to many collectors around the world. Some of my pieces were sold at the auctions in NYC, also did few collaborations with charity companies, im very happy and proud that we were able to rase money to help ppl from my art sales.
Most challenging thing is to find an inspiration, and it doesn’t come easy lol.
To have a Muse is the most important thing for any artist.
Best lesson is stay true to yourself and do not compare yourself and your work to anyone. Just keep doing your thing.
I want people to remember me as someone who brought something new into the art world. Someone who is unusual and rememberable with great sense of humor 🙂
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I live in Miami for about 2 years now. Its a very relaxing place to live in, I have constant feeling that Im on vacation:) There are many great Places here to see. I love french place LPM, Mila lounge to dance and Swizzle Rum Bar.
Absolutely must see is the Art Basel Week in Miami. its the most amazing time to meet very interesting ppl from all around the world and attend many art shows and performances. Unforgettable experience!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
