Meet Viviana Roque | Landscape and Portrait Photographer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Viviana Roque and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Viviana, how has your perspective on work-life balance evolved over time?
The work balance for me is seen as what they call the circle of life, one must balance the work parts in percentages and try to balance each area, for example, analyzing, editing time, creative process, shooting, media., between others, where one must analyze that a certain area does not exceed the time one stipulates.
It is very common in photography to dedicate a large part of the work to editing, it can represent more than 40% of the work time, leaving aside the areas of greatest interest.
It is important to ask yourself questions such as how do I spend my time? Do I work to meet the expectations of others?
Another interesting point is to know what 100% is for me?, be clear about what your objectives are and be realistic and firm with your achievable goals.
All parts of our wheel are interrelated, so it is important to achieve a balance to prioritize the areas of greatest interest.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
For me, photography has been a beautiful path that has led me to discover incredible places and wonderful people who have made me grow artistically and professionally.
I began the adventure of photography on a professional level more than 15 years ago, and what started as a passion has now also become a job in which I am passionate and motivated every day.
If you ask me what the most difficult challenge has been, I would have to start by telling you that five years ago I got Lyme disease, which has made it more difficult to achieve my goals, but at the same time it has taught me to move forward.
Lyme disease is an autoimmune disease that is spread by the bite of an infected tick, which can produce different symptoms, some of them fatigue, joint pain, headaches, brain fog, among others.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Well, my photographic tour would begin at dawn on South Beach, continuing towards the Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden,
and without a doubt I would end my day in the Everglades National Park.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
