Hi Waising, how did you come up with the idea for your business?
I noticed there’s an increase in demand of good quality Asian/Chinese appetizers around South Florida in recent years. People just love dumplings and steamed bao buns. Especially among the young working professionals, they want food that’s tasty and convenient. Unfortunately, there’s not really many choices in this area, and most of the available options in restaurants and local grocery stores are loaded with preservatives, artificial flavors, etc.

Mom’s Specialties will revolutionize the Chinese food industry in South Florida. we offer delicious packaged Chinese Appetizers to consumers with focus on freshness and convenience. All items are fully-cooked, just simply reheat and consumers will be able to enjoy hot delicious food in minutes.

We use natural ingredients and avoid adding preservatives in our products. Also, there’s plenty of vegan or/and gluten-free options available.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Mom’s Specialties make delicious packaged Chinese Appetizers (bao buns, dumplings, scallion pancakes) to consumers with focus on freshness and convenience. All items are fully-cooked, just simply reheat and consumers will be able to enjoy hot delicious food in minutes.

We use natural ingredients and avoid adding preservatives in our products. Since more and more consumers now are health-conscious, we came up with a variety of vegan options that American are familiar with, such as bok choy and shiitake mushroom bao bun, mixed mushroom dumplings, plant-based chicken spring rolls. In addition, our product line incl. handmade gluten-free dumplings to serve the demand from people who are gluten-intolerant.

Furthermore, pair our own “secret” honey garlic sauce with the dumplings or baked spring rolls. It’s the best!

My mom is extremely supportive from the beginning. She’s really my “true” business partner throughout this difficult journey. Whether if we were preparing for big catering events, or producing hundreds of dumplings for a last minute order, she’s always there to help me to complete the task. Unbelievable work ethic and dedication. I’m really blessed to have her as my mom and business partner.
