We had the good fortune of connecting with Willie Walker and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Willie, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Honestly, after being let go from the last job I decided to not let anyone have that much control over my livelihood. Why not wake up every day doing something you love? What I love to do is make people happy and smile from within and I do that through my eclectic array of flavors. If I can make your taste buds dance then I know you are smiling from within. Food is life🍴
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I wish I could have picked business and artist/creator. I see what we put out with our dining experiences as art and how we express ourselves creatively. I do what I do for the love of food, how it brings people together, and the joy that takes over them as they enjoy every bite. It’s the vibes, energy, and flavors we bring that set us apart. I’m most excited for this year. I feel everyone rocking with me going after their goals and pushing each other are about to walk through a whole new set of doors that we have not even imagined. As long as I can provide love through our food and positively impact the world through food, I am happy and will continue to give just that. Getting where I am today took a lot of confusion, hard work, falls, risks and prayer. I still have so much further to learn and grow.
It wasn’t easy and still isn’t easy but it is worth every sleepless night because I know where I am going! Some lessons I’ve learned along the way is 1, that everyone can’t go with you on your journey. 2, you have to believe in yourself before anyone else can and 3, consistency and writing out your goals will take you a long way. I want the world to know that we here at ChefWillie305 LLC will always bring our best to give the best. We want to make all of your tastebuds dance.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Nowadays they would be pretty bored visiting me because I’m working or trying to nap lol. But there are some places I enjoy visiting when I do get out. A nice boat ride and yacht day with 305Yachtz is always a vibe on the water, a nice brunch at Red Rooster or Bistro Cafe, A relaxing beach day at My favorite beach which is Hollywood Beach with some snacks and good lemonade lol. Dinner vibes would be a nice rooftop spot with the best sea bass called Juvia in Miami beach. There is also a dope virtual reality arcade in sunny isles that is pretty fun as well.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to shout out to God for blessing me with the most supportive family and friends. He’s a real one for that lol. I’m so appreciative of all the help, encouragement, grinding, prayer, speeches, push, and loyalty that I have around me. I truly prayed for the circle I have today and He continues to place angels in my life at the right times. My best friend Karissa Myers-Cedeno has supported me in every career path I have chosen over the years and just has been the BEST definition of a true best friend I could ever imagine. My clients, I really want to shout out to all of them. They get my craft and always have the best time curating with them!
