We had the good fortune of connecting with Yamilka Poujaud Rodriguez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Yamilka, what do you want your legacy to be?
I would like my legacy to be one of empowerment. I want people to remember me as a woman who helped others—especially women—realize their worth, chase their dreams, and believe in their power to achieve anything. Through my work in medicine and aesthetics, I’ve aimed to not only heal but uplift, inspire, and transform lives from the inside out.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Miracle Angels Med Spa is more than just a business—it’s the result of a lifelong journey, a deep passion for medicine, and a mission to help others feel beautiful, inside and out. What sets us apart is the personal care and intention behind everything we do. I’m not just the owner—I’m the injector, the guide, and often the encourager. My team and I create a space where our clients feel safe, valued, and empowered. We focus not only on results, but on the experience. Every face we touch is treated with purpose, precision, and care.

Recently, I launched Miracle Glow, my very own skincare brand created to reflect the same values we uphold in our practice: authenticity, quality, and results. This line is an extension of everything I believe in—helping people feel confident in their own skin with products designed by someone who truly understands it.

Getting to this point wasn’t easy. I started as a family doctor in Cuba, then came to the United States where I had to rebuild everything from scratch—new language, new system, new start. I became a nurse practitioner, earned my doctorate in nursing, and eventually opened Miracle Angels with nothing but faith and a dream. I faced doubts, financial setbacks, and the constant pressure of proving myself in a new world. But I never let fear stop me. I leaned on my faith, my family, and the belief that I was called to do more.

The biggest lesson I’ve learned is that nothing worth having comes easy—but if you lead with heart, stay consistent, and remember why you started, everything falls into place. I want the world to know that Miracle Angels and Miracle Glow are not just about beauty—they’re about transformation, confidence, and community. My story is one of resilience, and my brand stands for every woman who’s ready to rise.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend were visiting, we’d spend the day at Merrick Park Mall—shopping, having coffee, and enjoying the atmosphere. After that, we’d go to dinner at a beautiful spot like Capital Grille for great food and a relaxing vibe. One of the best parts of the trip would be spending a full day at a luxury day spa like Lapis Spa at the Fontainebleau—enjoying massages, steam rooms, and just taking time to relax and recharge. It would be the perfect mix of elegance, comfort, and quality time.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to dedicate this shoutout to my husband—my biggest supporter, motivator, and partner in every step of this journey. His unwavering belief in me, even when I doubted myself, has been the foundation of everything I’ve built. From the late nights to the tough decisions, he’s always been there with love, strength, and encouragement. I’m so grateful for his constant support and the way he stands by me through every challenge and every success. This journey wouldn’t be the same without him.
