We had the good fortune of connecting with Lee Green and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Lee, we’d love to hear about a book that’s had an impact on you.
We help the world in a number of ways. Firstly, we primarily work with cork material which is a completely sustainable material. The cork tree lives on average around 300 years, and within that 300 year lifespan the bark of the tree is stripped on average about 33 times. Each stripping allows us to produce a multitude of products made of cork. The entire process is completely harmless to the trees, while being extremely useful for mankind. We are able to bridge the gap of consumer needs without sacrificing vital resources to the planet. Beyond that, we recently partnered with a startup tech company in the Netherlands that is developing an app that will allow all of our customers to remotely plant trees via the app. We have access to three different forest, which one is located in Kenya, and the other two are located in Europe. The app will allow our customers to choose the tree they want to plant, while allowing them to not only monitor their tree throughout it’s life, but also track how much they reduce their carbon footprint on the planet. In terms of community, my company is donating cork masks to medical facilities in need throughout the United States. We also have been donating masks to those in underserved communities. We may have the only masks on the market that naturally eliminates bacteria, which gives an extra layer of protection. We want to ensure that everyone is able to have access to our masks.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am most excited about the new partnerships I have secured this year. We have partnered with Italian manufacturers to produce our new line of bags. We are working with the same manufacturers who produce bags for Gucci, Louis Vuitton, & Dior. I wanted to ensure my customers get the absolute best. Our brand motto is “Sustainability Is The Real Luxury “. I feel that sustainable fashion products should be made by the best hands, therefore I sought out the best. I think Italian craftsmanship speaks for itself in the world of fashion. It was not easy getting to this point. You have to go through many manufacturers before you find the right fit. I am also excited about the app that my partners in the Netherlands have developed. Through the app we have made it our goal to plant 20,000 trees a year in the Liore’s forest. Our time on this earth is short, therefore I want to ensure that I bought something of value to the world with my brief period of existence . I can’t save the world but I can contribute to making an impact. Through making such a commitment I hope to inspire others to take the same actions. The app will also allow for a great deal of transparency . We want our customers to be able to do more than just take our word that we planted trees. We want our customers to truly experience the value of their purchase . I think transparency is vital for any company to succeed.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
My very first stop would be on South beach to allow them to immediately experience what they have likely seen on television. Everyone wants to see south beach, so its best we get that out of the way first haha. After South Beach I would take them over to Wynwood to enjoy some of the art scenery and to enjoy wine from Lagniappe. Living in Europe has made me a big wine connoisseur. I have really developed an appreciation for fine wine and I love to share that appreciation with friends. After the wine I would then take them to Biscayne Bay to enjoy a boat tour to view the beautiful scenery of Miami. The last place I would take them to would be to a Rastafarian vegan restaurant in Hollywood called, ” Tree Lion”. Tree Lion is definitely one of my all time favorite places in South Florida. Here we can enjoy healthy food while getting a good history lesson from the local Rastas. There is always good energy in this place.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There are a few notable organizations that has been pivotal in allowing me to continue my journey with my brand. Although I am not Jewish I was allowed the opportunity to join a Jewish mentorship program out of New York called ” The Jewish Entrepreneur “. This organization has been extremely helpful in providing me with high caliber mentors, people whom are highly successful in their fields. Through this organization I have acquired a lot of information that has helped me to grow my business . No matter what I need this organization always seeks to find. Those guys truly want to see me be successful, I think every entrepreneur needs a team of mentors. The path of the entrepreneur is tough and I feel it can only be conquered with strong mentorship. The second notable organization is the Nisolo Brand. The Nisolo Brand is a Tennessee based brand that produces sustainable leather shoes in Peru. The. Nisolo Brand has been instrumental in me being able to relaunch my brand after Covid-19. Through them my brand is able to gain more exposure. Their team believes in what I am doing and has committed to supporting me. We launched our cork face masks through their marketplace and have been very pleased with the turnout thus far. I think Nisolo is one of the few brands who are not faking the funk, they truly stand behind their values. I am looking forward to growing with them.
