We had the good fortune of connecting with Yanko & Laura’ Venus Experience and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Yanko & Laura’, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
We had no doubts that we wanted to start a business as a couple to build something together from zero as a team. The opportunity arised when we noticed that what we loved the most (the beach, boats, the ocean) and what we had been doing for years as a hobby was suddenly a high demand business in the market. Our passion, combined with the weather and our hometown city (Miami) made the perfect scenario for Venus Experience to take place. Of course it was scary at first, since we had to deviate from our professional careers to dedicate 100 percent heart and effort in this new dream. However we knew that it was a safe investment and we had more than the needed experience; so we went for it.

What should our readers know about your business?
The idea of Venus Experience came after we used to spend the weekends in our boat named Venus. The calmness, the happy moments, the sunsets, the harmony that we felt we wanted to share it with everyone. We wanted our customers to experience that calmness and happiness that the sea gave us. “Sometimes we forget that those little moments with our friends and family are the ones that matter the most”. We consider that the experience, dedication and the love for what we do had been essential in our growth. Also as business owners we know that excellent customer service is the main key for success.
Building a company from the beginning it is never easy. First we needed to educate ourselves, a lot of research has been necessary, learning from people who is already successful it’s been helpful too. Commitment, consistency, confidence, hard work, learning from the journey, organization, making goals, staying focus, thinking positively, taking away distractions had helpus to overcome the challenges.
The main lesson we had learned is that you always need to believe in yourself and trust the process, you also need to have fun along the way avoiding getting burned out and no matter what others say or how hard the road gets, you need to keep dreaming and keep planning because great things are possible for those who believe.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Of course the first thing we will recomend is a boat trip. Miami offers the perfect weather all year long to spend time cruising on the open water, to enjoy beautiful beaches, islands and sandbars, admiring the Miami Skyline and sunsets. It also gives you the opportunity to have a good time in some of our favorite waterfront bars and clubs like Kiki on the River, Seaspice, The Wharf, Il Gabbiano. This a unique experience to escape from the ordinary. We will also recommend to visit Wynwood Walls, Downtown Miami, Miami Beach. There are a lot of fun things to do, restaurants to eat and nightclubs.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
We wouldn’t be able to make it without the support of our family and friends. Each of them played a special role in our journey with their help, dedication, patience, care and love.
