We had the good fortune of connecting with Yomara Gourdet and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Yomara, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
In the course of our lives we will find many risks, some will be good and others will be bad, but if we don’t take risks, we will never know what will happen. That’s life, either you take a risk or you lose. You never know what’s behind a big risk. As I always say, great things come with a little fear. And that’s normal, it happens to everyone, including me, although I don’t always take risks but I could say that most of the time I’ve done it and let me tell you that it went very well. You always have to think positive when making decisions and you will see that great things come into your life. Thanks to taking risks, I am gradually becoming what I have always wanted. The way is not easy, but here we are giving it strength to get to where I really want to go.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
We are all different but in order to make a difference among others we have to be ourselves, not try to imitate other people, people are not looking to see the SAME s**t. People are looking to see something different, so you have to be the difference. I could say that I distinguish myself from others from my way of being, dressing and even the way in which I transmit my content to my audience. I’m still not really where I want to be, I have a long way to go but I will not rest until I achieve it. Back to the question, I could say that I have gotten to where I am thanks to the risk taking that I have done in the course of my life.
Some of the lessons I have learned is that we have to be more careful with the people we surround ourselves with, not everyone is your real friend and not everyone wants to see you better than them. I have also learned that you should not say what you intend to do to others, 90% of the times that things have not worked out for me, it has been because I have told other people what I was going to do or planned to do.
My biggest goal is to achieve all my dreams and that not only the United States knows who I am, but the whole world.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’m the official guide to miami haha. The truth is that if my best friends came to visit me, I would take them absolutely everywhere in Miami, since I know 90% of Miami. In the itinerary First I would take their to the most popular places in Miami.
Starting with Miami Beach, where we have the beaches: “South Point Beach and South Beach”, where they can enjoy the beaches. Also they can enjoy Ocean Dr and Art Deco. Places that yes or yes they would have to visit in there are: Mangos Cafe, Clevelander, Giannis Versace and Palace.
Then I would take them to visit Wynwood where the best places to have a good time are 1800 Lucky, Coyo Taco, The Taco Stand and The mojito company. Continuing with the itinerary I would take their to Miami Design District where yes or yes we would have to go for a coffee at Dior and by the way since we are over there, why not go up to Upper Buena Vista where we could go to dinner in Palapa Miami, one of my favorite places in all of Miami.
And since they are in Miami, why not get off to Downtown where one of the most touristic places in all of Miami: Bayside Marketplace where we could go eat at Nicky Jam’s restaurant or take a Tour on the Speedboat that is in the bay , since we are in Downtown, why not go to the financial district of Miami: “Brickell” where we must not miss out on going to take a nice photo at Brickell City Center and taking advantage of this we could go for some drinks at Tacology, which are very good and 100% recommended. Those would be the main places that you have to know.
The weekend would be time to get to Club Space or E11even which are some of the best nightclubs in Miami.
And if my friends wanted to go to more expensive places I would take them to Raspoutine Miami, Sugar East, Mandrake Miami, Sexy Fish, MILA, Gekko or Prime.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Throughout our lives we will always come across many people, some of them will help you grow, while others will do the opposite. I have come across people of all kinds, and some have helped me to continue moving forward with my dreams and goals. I could say that one of the people who has helped me the most and has given me motivation when I want to do something is my cousin Pamela Delgado, who is always there when I need emotional support or when things are not going well, another person who was always happy with my victories was my grandmother, and it’s for her that I am still fighting for my dreams, because she has always happy with my victories and that made me feel very good. I could also say books like: “The Secret or The secrets of the millionaire mind have influenced me, my way of thinking and the way I see things. In the same way I had a lot of motivation in influencers who are achieving their dreams and who always repeat that no matter what your dream is, you have to go for it.
