We had the good fortune of connecting with Lauren Fadeley Veyette and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lauren, how did you come up with the idea for your business?
My husband and I were approached by a family several years ago looking for some private ballet coaching for their daughter, virtually. They lived in Kansas, and through Skype, we in Miami were able to give her the professional, one on one training she was looking for. It worked so well with her that we thought we could teach dancers from all over, who were lacking the ballet training they needed due to their location. And thus Veyette Virtual Ballet School was born!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My husband, Francis Veyette, and I both have had wonderful professional ballet careers in some of the nations top companies. Though it’s an incredible experience to perform onstage for a living, we faced many up and downs throughout our careers that led us to want to help navigate the next generation of dancers. We feel so fulfilled being able to teach many young dancers from all over through our business, and help inspire and motivate them as they strive to achieve their dreams!

Any great local spots you’d like to shoutout?
First thing is to definitely hit up the beach! South Beach is an amazing spectacle that must be seen, but I personally prefer Halouver or Key Biscayne as they are a little calmer. Love taking friends shopping on Lincoln Drive, with a stop on Ocean as well for that old Miami charm. Must see the Wynwood Walls and walk around the hip neighborhood. Favorite spots there are Beaker and Grey for a fabulous dinner and Veza Sur or Concrete Brewery outside afterwards.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I dedicate this shoutout to our very first clients, the Newton family, for helping create this concept and trusting that we had the knowledge, professionalism and passion to make this an actual business model!
