We had the good fortune of connecting with YRNRod and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi YRNRod, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
I started creating videos simply because I wanted to make people feel something. I feel like the world is full of sadness. Especially before the pandemic but, now even more during the pandemic. I wanted people to watch my content and laugh. Smile. Even if that means they’re laughing and smiling for only 3-15 minutes of their day. That can be enough to change somebody’s entire outlook on life. Pain is something that we all experience and if I can save somebody from outer or even inner pain for just 3 minutes of their day. That can save their life the next day. This is my life. I love it.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
What sets me apart? My work ethic. I don’t like being outworked by anybody. I HATE it. I wanna be the best but I’m not willing to step on anybody to do that. I want to do it through my own sheer effort and willpower to not only be good but be the best at what I’m doing. I got here today by not giving up and learning at every turn and opportunity that was given to me and I’m still not ready yet. So, nah. It wasn’t easy. I got a lot more levels to climb before I can say I overcame anything! But, I got a lot to learn and more levels to hit. I want the world to know. When it’s all said and done? You’ll know Rod by name and face.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I feel like the most interesting place to take anybody would probably be the beach at night with some friends, some music, food, drinks, and a bonfire of course.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
There’s a lot of people. But, the first person I want to thank is my Dad. If it wasn’t for my dad, there would be no YRNRod. He stood up for me when everybody else looked down on me. I feel like, without him, none of what I’ve achieved so far in life would’ve happened. He helped breed and understand the greatness that resides within himself while putting that same fire & greatness into me. I’d also like to thank my friends who constantly read all my scripts and support my videos without question. So, a special thank you to KC (Camp KC), Amarii (AyeTeeYNFR), Jo Nelson, Jordan Granger, LiuKari, Arin Summers, IisiahG and the rest of YBE. Also, I’d like to thank all the constant people who take time out of their day to support me and repost my content even though we don’t talk as much (I’m looking at you Chris) and for the mentorship on how to be a better man every day (Mr. Strozier).
