We had the good fortune of connecting with Zev Kanter and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Zev, what’s your definition for success?
The definition of success tends to be unique based on the individual you ask, but I personally believe there are three different categories of success.

Financial Success
Physical Success
Mental & Emotional Success

#1) Financial success is what one feels they need in monetary value to feel a sense of fulfillment and happiness.

#2) Physical Success is what one feels their status of health must be for them to feel they are thriving.

#3) Mental & Emotional Success is when one is able to feel satisfied with their level of wisdom, understanding, spirituality, and love from others.

The truth is that success is a never ending journey, and people often have a different level they need to reach to feel successful. Many people will spend their lives trying to reach new heights with their health and wellness, or their financial status, but there comes a point where you feel a great sense of accomplishment during your journey, and that moment is what success is for me.

What should our readers know about your business?
I started as any other kid growing up. Had my obstacles and downfalls, but I pushed through and stayed true to my work ethic. I credit a lot of my success to hard work, kindness, and staying true to my moral compass.

I obtained a bachelors in Economics with a minor in Kinesiology and Marketing from The University of Miami. I then proceeded to get my Masters in International Business and my MBA. I started my first business during my masters program at 25 years old and I haven’t looked back since. I put myself in uncomfortable positions that required hard work, but that helped me achieve what I have in my 20s. Everyone’s path is different, and I was a little crazy to do everything at once the way that I did, but remember that most things in life that are fulfilling aren’t easy. Those difficult paths create character and life long habits, and that makes the hard work all worth it to me.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend was visiting Miami, first thing I’m doing is scheduling a beach day followed by a cafe lunch and a roof top dinner at Sugar.

Throughout the week, I would bring them on a yacht from Beeyond Boats, I would take them to Wynwood and other cool locations unique to Miami, and I would enjoy night walks reminiscing of the good times we had.

Miami is Food – Fun – and Water so my whole trip would be exactly that.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to bring light to BeeyondBoats.com. It’s one of the most quality yacht charter companies in Miami, and the customer service and care one receives by booking with Beeyond Boats is unmatched.
