We had the good fortune of connecting with Naylan Alvarez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Naylan, what is the most important factor behind your success?
Integrity. Hands down!

Please tell us more about your work. How did you get to where you are today professionally. Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges? What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way.
If there’s a will, there’s a way. There have been many challenges along the way of building a platform with a clientele base, a brand, and as an independent educator. I’ve learned there will ALWAYS be new challenges as the future unfolds and new goals are made. Life is a series of speed bumps, some rockier than others. As long as the driver has the horsepower strong enough, those bumps will eventually look like pebbles in the rear view mirror.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
South FL has had some major upgrades thorough out most cities in the last several years. And we love to explore the tri-state area so showing friends a good time is always pretty easy. But some of my favorite local spots include places like Death or Glory bar in downtown Delray Beach; lThe Wharf by Las Olas, Fort Lauderdale and of course the famous Wynwood Arts District in Miami which always hosts some of the best street art, music and food. .

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’ve been extremely fortunate in this life to have a close-knit family, support system and mentors who have always encouraged or guided me to pursue my dreams. But my passion and talent are a gift from God. Recognizing and accepting that has allowed me to use my art for all his glory. It has truly led to some of the most rewarding moments in my career serving others.
