We had the good fortune of connecting with Passion “P-Say” Roosevelt and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Passion “P-Say”, what do you attribute your success to?
The most important factor behind my success is knowledge. I always put myself in a position to learn more. You can never overload on knowledge. Things are always updating and changing so I make sure to stay in the loop. Plus learning a new skill ever so often helps expands your brand.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My production company P-Say Entertainment is known for our unorthodox plays. We’ve recently been featured in film festivals over the last two years for our short films. As an Acting Coached I’ve worked with Actors who can be seen on Netflix, HBO along other films, commercials and cable networks. My style of coaching is unique and risqué because of the mental and physical depth I train the Actors in. The biggest challenge I’ve had with my business is funding projects and having a committed team. Not having enough money to pay everyone can lead to people quitting. This becomes an overload on the few who stay on board and we get the job done but we can do so many other projects if we had sponsors and donations.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I like to give my visitors a taste of Miami so I most certainly have to go by South Beach, walk on Bayside and eat at Miami restaurants like The Licking, Lorna’s and my favorite treat at Snoballs for some shaved ice. If there are any plays or Miami Heat games that week we’ll definitely be attending.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My children Kayla, Dionni and Destiny are my inspiration to go hard and not give up. I give thanks to my mom Eula, my best buddies Adrian Bell and Herman McCray, my Coaches Vanessa Lynn, Genevieve Carvil-Harris and Tracy Timberlake. My team Sybil Wilson, Kimberly Alexis-Benjamin, Nicole Travis and Ana Freeman. With the special support of Eddie Dorsey, LaTequa Mills, Kelvin Taylor and Shyloh Yisreal. My fans are the best. Special shout-out to Marlon Wayans who gives me the drive to stay creative. The community of Miami, Florida.
