We had the good fortune of connecting with Samantha Pratts and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Samantha, is there a quote or affirmation that’s meaningful to you?
Yes! One of my favorite quotes from Maya Angelou is “at the end of the day people won’t remember what you said or did, but they will remember how you made them feel.” This quote has always resonated with me and reminds me to always be a kind and empathetic person.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am the content creator and foodie behind the food blog, Sassyy Foodie and the co-host of At The Dinner Table podcast. I started my food blog because I always had a passion for writing and food. My husband and I have always loved checking out new spots around town and my friends were always asking me for recommendations. When I first started the blog, I worried too much about what other people thought. I would be embarrassed to get the perfect shot in public because people were staring at me. I worried about the likes on IG. I worried that nobody would read my blog posts. Once I got over myself and learned to have fun with it and stop thinking about what other people thought, I remembered why I started the blog in the first place- to support my local businesses and share my recommendations with the world! In addition to the food blog, this year I joined At The Dinner Table podcast as the co-host with my best friend, Shan’tel. We have combined our passions to create a round table like discussion weekly for our listeners. We spill the tea on trending news, health, food and hopefully events soon 🙂 We also interview guests that are making a difference in our community. I want my brand to be represented by my community. I want to share the stories of local chefs, entrepreneurs, creatives and beyond.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
South Florida has so many amazing things to do! The following are just a few of my fave places/things to do 🙂

Monday- Definitely have to hit up the beach. There are so many great beaches, but I would take her to Lake Worth Beach. We could start with picking up pub subs from Publix to pack for lunch and then get breakfast at Benny’s before a fun day in the sun. We would then have dinner at DADA in Delray. Tuesday- It’s taco

Tuesday so I am taking her to El Camino on the Ave (downtown Delray) for tacos and watermelon jalapeno margaritas. Then Proper Ice Cream for dessert.

Wednesday- We would take a day trip to Wynwood via the Brightline! We can hit up some of my favorite spots: The Salty Donut, Kush, Concrete Beach Brewery and Veza Sur.

Thursday- Dinner and a show! Dinner at Buccan in Palm Beach and then to the Kravis Center to watch a show.

Friday- I would take her on a brewery tour around Boynton Beach which includes Due South, NOBO and Copperpoint.

Saturday- Coffee and breakfast at Subculture and mini golf at Put’n Around in Delray.

Sunday- Brunch day! We are going to Lynora’s downtown on Clematis (West Palm Beach) and then bar hopping!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
When I was starting my creative journey with my food blog, my husband and best friend were my biggest fans and both encouraged me to just go for it. They have both taught me that you can do anything you put your mind to. I am so thankful to have them in my corner.
