My time spent working as a therapist over the years has taught me that trauma has far reaching effects for not only the people who have experienced traumatic events but also for those who they interact with in their daily lives. It has even impacted myself and so many of my colleagues in this field, which has inspired me to create a team of trauma informed clinicians who can support as many people in our community to create a healing effect that I know will ripple out into the larger community that surrounds each of our clients. My business of bringing an Interactive Drum Circle to events, summer camps and schools helps the community with a hands-on, participatory activity that is inclusive and brings people of all ages together.
I am thankful for the chances I have had to bring group drumming to diverse groups. I have done sessions for kids at different summer camps, and done groups of children and adults with disabilities. I have facilitated events for Jewish women at Rosh Codesh (new moon festival) and a “celebration of life” drum circle on the beach for a family to remember a relative who passed away. Read More>>
