We had the good fortune of connecting with Tiffany Joy and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tiffany, what do you attribute your success to?
We believe in authenticity. That isn’t to say it’s always been easy creating and maintaining an identity. As artists it is our duty to constantly reinvent ourselves and it’s easy to get lost under the pressure of an industry that is so over-saturated by social media and the sheer quantity of artistic offerings. As songwriters, the inspiration and passion behind our songs have been what has guided us over the years and inspired us to stay true to the music. We honestly love what we do, writing and performing music, and I think that our true success is just being able to live out that narrative every day in a very genuine way.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Maqui and I have been creating & performing music together for ten years now. We were both solo artists before we met in Buenos Aires in 2010 and formed “IndiviDúo’… our journey so far has had many interesting chapters and it has been fascinating to look back and see how each lesson has unfolded in it’s own particular way… has it always been easy? Of course not, life is uniquely designed to present us with challenges, it’s how we grow. We are better now that we ever have been: our artistry, our communication, our patience, our identity all cultivated and forged by the fires of life and all of its complexities. And we keep making mistakes and attempting to learn from them everyday. We believe our gift as songwriters and performers is just that …. a gift. A gift that we have humbly accepted and promised to honor. With that acceptance, we understand the responsibility to live with the necessary tenacity to keep moving forward at all costs creating and share our music with the world.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We live in the Bay Area (and I actually was born and raised here) and it is truly a phenomenal place to be. Northern California is just so beautiful, and San Francisco is a miraculous city with so much to offer culturally. You could spend a year just touring its details and getting to know it’s various neighborhoods. Not to mention the natural landscape… from Golden Gate Park to Big Sur, little towns like Sausalito or Carmel, the scenic drive down HWY 1 – the view from pigeon point lighthouse, the list goes on and on!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
We want to give a HUGE shoutout to our ‘IndiviDúo Familia’. The patrons, friends and fans that follow our musical journey and support us each step of the way. They really are like a big Familia and we don’t use that term lightly, we adore them and every message, comment, stream, share, like and follow makes it possible for us to continue creating and sharing our music with the world. GRACIAS FAMILIA!!!
