We had the good fortune of connecting with Felva and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Felva, what role has risk played in your life or career?
In regards to risk-taking, I have always had a high-risk high-reward type of mentality. If it’s a situation that is going to potentially benefit my music, my team, and my family then I am all about it. I don’t think too deep into the negative that can come into my life by taking a particular risk because then I would be inviting that type of energy into the situation.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’ve been a knee-deep in the music game for 10 years. over time, I’ve juggled between several genres of music but I have definitely found a home in the Latin/American Industries. I focus on mainly urban music. Everything from Reggaeton,Trap,Dancehall,pop, Etc. I’d say what makes me unique is the fact that Within music I hold different roles. For Example, I am an established world-traveling DJ. I am a Latin grammy nominated Music Producer. I am a recording artist. I also own my own independent Label, Maintain Music. So all of these different elements put me in a very unique space within music and have solidified me as someone who drives the music Culture here in Miami and is helping it spread throughout the world!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If someone is in Miami I am definitely taking them to hang out in Wynwood. Racket, Dirty Rabbit, Coyo. There are a ton of dope spots to hang at. I am also likely to do a boat ride at marine stadium and obviously the beach. I’d also like to go to a Miami Heat game or a concert at the FTX arena or Hard rock.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d like to focus my attention on the music that I have been releasing and working on recently. I’d like to highlight all of my peers that work with me that allow me to do what I do best and facilitate my process. I’d like to shout out my family and God first and foremost. Also, my team maintains music and Innercat Music. All of the creatives, I work with extend from Songwriters, Producers, video personnel, photographers, engineers, marketing. I mean I can go all day without getting into specifics but I’m just super thankful for my overall team, you know who you are, without their guidance, motivation, and help, everything that I do would not be possible.
