We had the good fortune of connecting with Bryanna McBurney and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Bryanna, do you have any habits that you feel contribute to your effectiveness?
I feel like the best habit to pick up when starting your own business is consistency. There will be good days, but there will also be bad days. The goal is to maintain consistency through it all.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am an aspiring hair artist but I am beginning to branch out into other aspects of cosmetology as well. There are many stylists in Miami, but not all of them are as passionate as me. Many young women know this and look for certain qualities in a hair stylist. To set myself apart, I make sure that I obtain each of these qualities no matter how hard it may be. To get to where I’d like to be, I have to trust my process and remain consistent. There are definitely challenges but I am confident that I am prepared to tackle any issues that come my way. I’ve been through many things but I am still standing. Knowing that I am capable of doing great things keeps me focused.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend was visiting the area for a week, I would be sure to take them to the hotspots of Miami. Wynwood would be on the list for sure! There are multiple activities and great food spots there. I’d also try to take them to a high school football game. Nothing beats the Friday night lights at Traz Powell Football Stadium. Sundays restaurant would also be on the list.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
The main person I’d like to dedicate my success to is my late grandmother, Tracy Martin. Before she passed, she always made sure to stress the importance of making something of myself. To her, It didn’t matter if I went to college and became a lawyer or became a general manager at a fast food chain. She just wanted the best for me and I will stand tall on my promises of making her proud.
